Our deepest sympathy on the passing of your beloved father, and husband from the Mighty's.
We will never forget the NCM and Mr. Haab's compassion for music, his love for children, his desire to educate, inspire, and develop. His ability to spot talent and nurture it, his commitment to self development, and his creativity.
I recall when Mr. Haab stated all your children will benefit from taking music and he assisted my husband and I to enrol each child into the appropriate classes-private piano lessons, group lessons, and vocal lessons. He observed my youngest daughter singing every time he saw her and encouraged me to enrol her in singing lessons which I did. He created scholarships so all children at the school who worked hard and showed improvement in their skills were awarded with a scholarship for free lessons, an award for the parents as scholarships helped parents give their children the very best and to continue with lessons even if they could not afford it. Honestly I could not afford to have all 4 of my girls (Alicia,Novlette,Omega, and haviah) attend the school if not for the scholarships and the girls worked very hard as they had to impress Mr. Haab and their teachers.
Mr. Haab even awarded my husband and I with a bicycle for being dedicated parents who made sure their children arrived on time and never missed their lessons. He was always thinking of others and he always gave back to the community.
Mr. Haab was very creative always thinking of how he could further enhance a child's skills, their talents and unique gifts- one day Mr. Haab called me and said Mrs. Mighty your daughter will benefit from working with a variety of talented teachers each with different skills and talents. He asked if I would be ok if he created her learning schedule to incorporate multiple teachers; of course I agreed. He stated this was something he never did before. My daughter took lessons from various teachers and indeed developed multiple skills only the very best from each teacher which she continues to use today to inspire and develop others
To this day all my children including my son who never had the opportunity to attend the school but grew up watching his sisters love for music; are actively involved in music and many have made music their sole career-their work ethic and dedication instilled by their early years attending NCM. We are forever lucky to have had the opportunity to attend the school and meet Mr. Haab and his wonderful family!
