Obituary of Mrs. Eva Foster
(1942 – 2024)
Eva Foster passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, July 12, 2024 at the age of 82 after a long, hard fight to manage her persistent heart problems. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ron, and two sons, Ryan and Brent (Joie). Her husband and children will miss her, as will her grandchildren, Haley and Camille. Eva was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Eva Leidal. Eva was the elder sister to Larry Leidal.
Eva was a dedicated classroom teacher for 45 years. Eva began her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse during the early 1960s in the Haldimand-Norfolk region. Subsequently, she taught elementary school in the London, Ontario area before moving to Toronto where she taught in both Etobicoke and Scarborough. She later enjoyed many occasional teaching assignments for the TDSB for several years after her official retirement. While teaching in Scarborough, she specialized in teaching English as a Second Language to many recently arrived students. Eva greatly enjoyed this aspect of her career.
Eve’s funeral will occur on Thursday, July 18th, 2024 at the Ogden Funeral Home, located on Sheppard Ave. East in Scarborough. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. before a service at 1:oo p.m.
