I don’t recall ever meeting Aunt Joyce; I simply knew her all my life. In fact on many occasions she would mention incidents that occurred long beyond what I could remember.
I have only pleasant and happy memories of Aunt Joyce, beginning with my early life in British Guiana and continuing after her family moved to Toronto. She never failed to remember my birthday and special occasions in our family. She was one of the few links I had with life in our home country.
To Larry, Gordon, Jacque and Evan, your mom was a model of what it is to be a wonderful, kind and loving person.
May she rest in peace.

I can’t even begin to express my sorrow hearing this sad news. I thought the world of Joyce both as an incredible friend, and a mentor. She was an absolute pleasure to be around and always brought a smile to my face. When I moved back to Nova Scotia we continued our friendship over telephone conversations. She was a genuine lady and I will miss her dearly

Evan, Ann and Eva; Saddened at the passing of your dear Mother/Mother-In-Law/Grandmother. A loving Mother is more precious to her children and grandchildren than any word can ever capture. May her memory be a blessing.

Dear Larry, Gordon, Jacqui and Evan, thinking of you all.
I've always had a special place in my heart and great respect for Auntie Joyce. I admired the strength and faith with which she lived her life. Our family and yours were very close as I remember from since our childhood days. I will never forget that.
Wishing you all the strength to get through this period and to move forward with all your memories.

Don’t think I ever imagined living in a world without you in it. In fact, to me, you WERE it. Everything I am I owe to you. When Dad left this world far too early, you bravely took up the mantle of ushering 5 kids through this life. You were the kindest warmest classiest and most genuine person I ever met. I hope in this life I mirror your existence for those you left behind. I’m glad I was here to hold your hand and usher you towards the next plain of existence. I love you eternally. Rest in Peace.

My first memory of A.Joyce is meeting her on the stairs of her home in August 1971. She had worked late the evening that my family landed in Toronto from Guyana. She & U.George kindly allowed my family to stay with them for while, until we got settled in our new city & country.
Her first words to me on those stairs , delivered with a hug, were " So you are the one I missed last night". Apparently I was so tired from plane travel & excitement, that I could not stay up to greet her ,the previous night.

To Larry, Gordon, Jacqui, Evan,
Heartfelt condolences on your Mom's passing. She will be remembered with much love and fondness.
Aunt Joyce was a one of the reasons why my childhood was such a very memorable, happy one. I will never forget her and all the wonderful experiences.
She was a beautiful human being who showed no judgement, but only understanding and patience.
Deservedly so, now she is sitting with the Angels and smiling down on us.
All my love,
Barbara, Lennox, Lana
