Lichao passed away peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2024 surrounded by his family. 

He is survived by his wife Fei-Ying Janet of 52 years, and his daughters, Susan (Douglas), Linda (David), and Christine, along with his four grandsons, Michael, Andrew, Liam and Logan. 

He was born in Kolkata, India, and at the age of 31 with only a few dollars in his pockets, he immigrated in 1967 to Canada. While in Toronto, he met Janet and discovered they had come from the same city in India, and with his quick wit and charm, they were soon married. 

After working for over 20 years at Warner Lambert, he happily retired in 1993. He spent time travelling all over the USA, coast to coast in Canada, enjoyed all inclusive vacations and cruises throughout the Caribbean, and was able to return to China on multiple visits. He witnessed the marriages of Susan and Linda and was a proud grandfather to four beautiful grandsons, whom he adored. He also spoiled his beloved cat, Mufasa. 

While his passing was sudden and unexpected due to a recent cancer diagnosis, we are thankful that he did not suffer long. 

We will forever remember him for his dedication to his family, his humor and strong will. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at Ogden Funeral Home. Address: 4164 Sheppard Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1S 1T3

The funeral will take place on Saturday, July 6th at 11:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church.
