In 1988, Edward, his wife Louise, and their youngest son, Andrew immigrated to Alberta, Canada from Linden, Guyana and moved to Toronto in 1990. A committed Seventh-day Adventist, he chose the cozy comfort of the small Beulah congregation (Sloane and Lawrence Avenue, Scarborough). In 1993, he and his late wife became charter members of Shiloh, the newly amalgamated Beulah and Ephesus congregations, in Scarborough, Ontario. Edward remained a dedicated member of Shiloh where he served as an elder. Sabbath School teacher, and member of Shiloh Men’s Chorale, blending his melodious baritone voice with the choral group under the direction of Urich Ferdinand, until about 2013. Edward also loved to play the guitar.
Edward was an accomplished builder, machinist, and carpenter who made most of the furniture in the family home in Guyana. He was also an avid reader, whose only problem with age was his failing eyesight because he could no longer read his bible and keep abreast of the progress of the Seventh-day Adventist Church through the Adventist Review and Canadian Messenger.
Edward went to sleep in Jesus with a firm hope in the promise of the resurrection and soon return of Jesus to put an end to death and sin. Dad, Granddad, Uncle Eddie, Elder Enniss, you have fought the good fight! You have finished the course, and you have kept the faith! Jesus has promised that a crown of life awaits the faithful when he returns! Sleep in peace until then!
