Mr. Manuel Monleon

Obituary of Mr. Manuel Monleon

Please share a memory of Mr. Manuel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Manuel Monleon, 80, of Toronto, ON passed away on May 24, 2024 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Lutgarda, his children - Anna Leah (Daniel) and Joshua (Myra Khristine), his grandchildren - Drew (Joanna), Madison (Max) and Leah and his great grandchild - Julia along with his numerous nieces and nephews.

Manuel loved spending time with family and friends, regularly playing mahjong, watching horse racing and flipping cards at the casino tables. He could often be seen watching sports highlights and was always positive his beloved Blue Jays would win it all soon. He traveled the world and saw many of the popular sightseeing locations in Europe and Asia.

A first generation Canadian, Manuel came to Canada with his wife, daughter and a dream to live a better life than his home country could provide during those times. He worked for McDonell Douglas (later Boeing) for almost 30 years before calling it quits and spending the rest of his life with his love and soulmate.

Manuel was a soft spoken man who rarely wanted to cause issues and would rather stay out of spats than get into pointless arguments. His quiet, and gentle demeanor made him the favourite uncle to hang around because he would just listen, nod and smile. And it is only fitting that he quietly left this world while everyone slept so as to not cause a fuss.
