Mr. Beltecezar Flores

Obituary of Mr. Beltecezar Flores

Please share a memory of Mr. Beltecezar to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Beltecezar Diolanda Flores was born November 6, 1935 in Manila, Philippines and passed way peacefully with his wife by his side on May 9, 2024 in Toronto, Canada. He is survived by his wife Perseveranda, his children Liza Rose and Michael Sean and his daughter-in-law Bernadette, his grandsons Isaiah, Joshua and Noah, his youngest sister Aida, his brother-in-law Leonardo and his loving family and friends.

He was one of eleven siblings to Rev. Exequiel Flores, Sr. and Aurea Diolanda-Flores where he briefly stayed in Davao but would call Manila home. From the Philippines he travelled to Iowa and Texas to work as a Lab Technician however  he found a home in Toronto, Canada, embarking on what would be a 30 year career at Women's College Hospital.

He would find more than a career at Women's College Hospital as he would meet a nurse named Perseveranda Panganiban. As love grew they committed themselves to each other where they would go on to be married for fifty-two years. As a loving and devoted husband, Bert would always be at his wife's side. He was the epitome of what a good man and husband should be and he made sure that he made Percy feel like she was special by falling in love with her day after day. They were blessed with two children with Liza Rose being their first born and Michael Sean, their second child. His love and  commitment to his children was only surpassed by the love he had for God and for his wife, Percy. Bert's grandsons would follow with Isaiah Michael, Joshua Nathaniel and Noah Michael. The love and pride that he had for his grandsons was undeniable. All you had to do was look at the many pictures that adorned their condo.

Bert's personality was incredibly magnetic. He was able to capture a room with his quiet confidence, old-world charm, and have people laughing with his wit and humour. He would be constantly heard belting out songs like a crooner, singing songs like My Way, making any place an instant venue for his impromptu concert. Being around him made you feel like the only person in the room. He would take people into his home when they had no where else to turn or even when they needed a new start in Canada. He loved to dance, travel the world with his wife and spend time with his loved ones.

Bert will forever leave his light and legacy in the hearts of his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his sister and in everyone who had the pleasure of sharing time with him. We have all been blessed to have known him and we are blessed to know what pure love feels like. May he rest in eternal peace with Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of Heaven.
