We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Uncle Leroy. He was so welcoming, kind and thoughtful with us when we were in his presence, and we know you will miss him terribly. We hope that a donation to this charity would honor his deep love for Gershon. Love Kim, Colin, Kiersten and Quinn Campbell

Leroy was one of the founding members of the Fortin Batchie Boys.
We grew up together on the streets of PointFortin, Trinidad. He belonged to the brothers of school teachers. Leroy was exuded with joy, happiness and laughter . He told beautiful jokes and was always the life of the party..He was a skillful card player and love playing cricket and soccer. Rest In Peace my brother.

Dear Sharon, Nadia and Nick,
Today was very sad day for all of us.... With a heavy hearts and with tears in our eyes we said good byes to our dear Leroy. We will greatly miss him....it is hard to watch his car sitting on a driveway knowing that he will never be driving it and a waving through his window peace and love sign ever again. It hurts to loose great neighbour who was a grandpa figure for our kids and father figure to me and my husband. He never missed the opportunity to tell us how much he loves us all, how great job we were doing raising such a great kids and he blessed us every time. He was the only one who did that and we are forever grateful to have him in our lives. Just not even two weeks ago he came out to tell us that he was so upset with the parking officer giving us a parking ticket as we parked on the street due to our construction. He was worrying about us instead of himself even though, we now know, he had a bigger battle to fight. He also mentioned that he wanted to replace the windows on the house and I told him about energy rebate to check online and he said he will. Like he came out in a way to say good buy to us and who would think we would not see him again.....What a wonderful man he was, considerate, kind, cheerful, proud grandpa of Josh and Leah....He was beaming talking about them how wonderful they are...We will take his legacy of spreading love everywhere we go and will live by his example. Leroy will forever be in our hearts. May God rest his soul and may angels light up his way to greatly deserved Heaven. Our deepest condolences to all of you and Sharon please reach out for anything you might need. With love, your neighbours Lillian, Vlad, Michael, Kristina and Emili

I remember playing tennis with Joshua in the driveway which, obviously, made Leroy really happy. Josh was pretending to be Djokovic and I was pretending to be Federer. Leroy asked us who was the best. Of course, Josh responded that he was the best and I said that I was. But, Leroy, was quick to correct us. He said, "No, I'm the best. I'm Nadal!"

In my heart you will always be remembered as warm, kind, and loving. I have such fond and loving memories of Josh and Leah's birthdays, always a proud and doting grandpa. As kids, Nadia and I always relying on you for drives, including the first day of highschool. I will miss having you refer to me like your second daughter. Uncle Leroy was my godfather, my dad’s cousin and one of his dearest friends. He was unassuming and gentle, always there to lend support, offer encouragement, or crack a joke. He exuded love and care; never failing to send me a birthday card, year after year, always with a little something in it. Even though I didn’t get to see him as much since moving to the US, I’d get updates through my dad as they continued to maintain a close friendship. My love and condolences to Aunt Sharon, Nadia, Nick and the rest of the family. He truly was a treasure and I’m so grateful to have had the pleasure of having him in my life.

Nadia and I became friends in our first year of study at U of T. One day Nadia was feeling unwell at school and called Leroy to come pick her up. Leroy got to campus as quickly as he could to attend to his sick daughter. It was immediately clear what a dedicated, loving and committed father he was. My first impression was only reinforced over the years watching their beautiful and loving family, and the strong, kind and supportive father and grandfather Leroy was.
Wishing you all comfort and peace in this time of immense grief.
With heartfelt condolences,
Anna, Mike, Malcolm, Alice and Caroline

Uncle Leroy was my “uncle cowboy”. That was a little joke/nickname for him when I was a kid. I remember the times he would visit at the cottage and how he would always light my face up with smiles, jokes and laughter. He Is one of the nicest people I have ever known. I will miss him dearly and hope is life changing impact stays forever.
I send my condolences to his friends and family.

Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. We share in your sorrow with love and friendship.
Leroy began as a co-worker and soon evolved into a trusted friend, and then family. His strength, kindness and generosity always inspired us and continues to this day. Although life did not give him an easy path, he was never one to complain of his challenges, but faced them with quiet bravery. His faith and determination led him to help so many people, some directly through kind acts and others from the example he set. His legacy lives on in his love and guidance of his children and grandchildren, his devotion to his wife, and his faith and community.
Although he is not physically with us, he has left a deep mark in our hearts and we are truly blessed to have known him. With heavy hearts, we say farewell to our dear friend knowing his loving nature will continue to inspire us daily and knowing we shall meet again.

I remember first meeting Gershon as a kid. He took me into his room and we played super nintendo, then watched a wrestling match between the Undertaker and Jake the Snake. I just thought Gershon was the coolest guy ever!
My uncle Leroy exuded the love of God. He always embodied a genuine care for me and my family. He went above and beyond to help us, even financially when we were in need. I grieve at his passing, but know he's with the Lord (Oh death, where is your sting?). Impossible to forget his smile, his voice, his love for people. Thank you uncle Leroy for everything. I love you and I will miss you. <3
My condolences to the family and friends, you are in my prayers.

Through Jason's courtship and marriage to Nadia we came to know Leroy, Sharon, Gershon and Nick. We took an instant liking to the soft-spoken gentleman with the broad smile.
Over the years at all the family events it was always a pleasure to talk with Leroy, whether it was about sports or our mutual favorite topic, Joshua and Leah. His Obituary describes the loving husband, with his strong faith, his selfless support of others and love of family. Being a strict father, I believe translates into the protector of his children and trying to keep them safe and on a successful path, which Leroy accomplished to the fullest. We are sure St. Peter will have a broad smile with the gates wide open and the red carpet rolled out welcoming Leroy in.
Leroy will be forever in our thoughts. Love always, Duncan and Karen

A Letter to my Dearest Uncle Leroy Granville Francis Niles:
The first time I met you in person around 9 or 10 years of age, I thought you were magical, you
were kind, humble, caring, patient and everything any one could want in an uncle or father. You
took care of me and my cousins preferably Nadia and I who had gotten our hair wet on one
occasion when Aunty and they went out and gave us some big hair plaits after drying it. I was
still in shock then because I never knew men could plait. (smile)
As I grew older, I visited again before my loving cousin Gershan sadly passed away and saw the
extreme love of a father and the care of wanting to be the best to facilitate my cousin with his
ailments. I loved you even more. You nurtured and advised me so well and always reminded me
how much you care and loved me.
The third occasion when I visited at an older age as I began my thirties, I was met with a
distinguished man who I knew and hope that I would love my partner to be and still tell my
partner that “I do hope you are a man like my Uncle Leroy”. I actually told him this three weeks
ago when I last spoke to you on the telephone.
After that I visited a third time where I spent time with you, Aunty Sharon and a lot with my
cousin Nicholas who I do believe reminds me of you so much. After that I passed the Bar and
became a lawyer and I remember you spoke to me to tell me how proud you were of me and if
there is anything I would need to assist this new start you would send. Always the caregiver and I
will forever remember that.
I am so happy you spoke to my daughter London Janae and she seemed to understand you so
well although she is 2 and I was not privy to that special conversation.
I will not forget you, your voice, your caring ways and the need to always remind me of your
love for us. Oh and that beautiful handwriting that I am still trying to copy.
Your loving niece
Tamara Gregorio
