In the wake of our loss, we fondly remember Mrs. Melba. She illuminated our lives with her lively humor and warmth while her intellect bewitched many. Her gentleness soothed souls and her relentless passion moved mountains as she was a beacon of faith to all those that knew her closely. The passing away of such a beloved friend leaves a void, but the memory of her kindness will forever be etched in our hearts.

My deepest condolences to Melba's family and all those whose lives she touched.
I was fortunate to share my practice with Melba at Sunnybrook from the day we both started at the cancer centre until she retired. I could never have asked for a better partner in good days and bad.
It was never the same for me or our patients after Melba left Sunnybrook.
I will always miss my Melba

Dear Melba's loss has shaken us all to the core. Her beautiful heart and her generous spirit lifted all who knew her. I was so fortunate to have worked with her at Sunnybrook. She was an amazing nurse. Calm, professional, compassionate, intelligent. Everyone loved her. Staff and patients. Her beautiful smile and laugh lit up a room.
I was truly blessed in that the last four years before Melba retired, my desk was about two feet from hers. What an amazing gift that was, to have such a kind, fun and warm-hearted person in my space everyday at work! We sure did share a lot of laughs.....and tears.
She truly was an angel on earth.
I will miss you Melba....so will "my little Rosey" as you'd call her.
My thoughts, love and support go to her dear family in this devastating time.

Melba was our neighbor. A beautiful sweet caring soul with a smile so bright and genuine she lit up the street. There are many memories we have but one in particular....I remember one afternoon everyone was out working in the yard when my husband deeply cut his hand. Mel sprang into action and quickly put on her nursing "hat" and took care of the situation with such calmness ease and care. I was grateful for her help as I get weak seeing blood lol. Our street will never be the same with her gone, but we will all stand together to support and love Ron, Chris, Aiden and the family ❤️. She will live on in our hearts as we share stories and memories. We will cry laugh and love together. We are all still in great shock...we miss you dearly Mel! Love Pam, Sal and family

I was lucky to have had the pleasure and honour to work with Melba (aka Melba Toast) for many years and she was as beautiful inside as she was out. Genuine, elegant, gentle, humble, caring and compassionate, down to earth, universally relatable, kind are all terms I associate with her. Her smile could fill a dreary hospital hallway with sunshine and when she would walk around the corner and I knew I would be working with her I instantly knew it was going to be a good day. Her loss was felt when she retired but the news of her passing has hit like a shockwave and it's hard to believe that it's true. She made a huge and lasting impression on me and will live in my memories always. My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to her family and friends, Maria Di Mauro
