Over the last two years, I was fortunate to have many conversations with Uncle Lawrence. Though it seemed like we were always playing telephone tag, Uncle Lawrence made up for lost time covering all sorts of topics.
My Dad and Uncle Lawrence maintained their friendship for over 50 years. Only one year and 2 days separated their birthdays, so I would say their connection was forged long before they knew themselves. After my Dad's passing, Uncle Lawrence spoke fondly of their young days in Guyana. Naturally, our conversation always included a healthy discussion on the culinary delights of his homeland.
I will miss the connection to my Dad through our conversations. I will cherish our talks regarding politics, food and music. Uncle was a true fighter. As he crosses over into paradise, I am reminded of a beautiful butterfly. So as Uncle Lawrence's spirit flies high, he will always be with us and watching over us. When we least expect, the beautiful butterfly will appear, just for a moment, to remind us we are not alone.
Love to Auntie Claire and family.

Remembering Lawrence Blackmore
"A Life well Lived"
Lawrence, I am honoured to be your friend and privileged to be considered your “*earth angel*" as you fondly nicknamed me.
Lawrence was unconditionally loved beyond measure by his devoted wife Claire, his affectionate children Nicolas (Tracy) & Laurel, his doting grandchildren Revaya, Sonaya, Michael & Gabriel, and his compassionate sister-in-law Barbara.
Whenever I visited Lawrence, it was remarkable to continually witness an outpouring of affection and attention that he willingly and enthusiastically embraced.
He was like a flower engulfed by *fluttering butterflies, * as he was continuously attended to by so many ladies; his wife, daughter, granddaughter, sister-in-law, and his committed PSW.
At such times, I would tease Lawrence and ask him " When will he (the flower) pollinate?"
To which he would respond with his usual silence; his sweet smile and eyes wide opened with amazing expression, as he relished in the moment.
Lawrence loved his faith and family, profoundly. He spoke with pride and admiration of his childhood days, serving as an altar boy in church and how much he enjoyed singing in Latin, as he had a keen interest in music from his youth.
He would often reminisce about his cherished memories of his caring parents, siblings, friends, as well as his adult life in "sweet" Guyana.
His family expanded beyond his immediate family.
He frequently kept in touch with his loving siblings abroad, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, his dear friends and his friendly neighborhood community.
Lawrence may be described as a great conversationalist. He was an emphatic listener and a man of few words. However, he was always confident and vocal in sharing his opinion and upholding ethical and moral decisions.
He enjoyed a well-balanced life and had a great appreciation for his faith, family, friends, food, and music.
Lawrence loved sharing his knowledge and pleasure of listening to music, which often evoked emotions, as particular songs would remind him of "The good old days” as he sentimentally referred to his reflections.
He would often say a song can instantly take you back to a moment, place, or time.
No matter what else has changed in you or the world, a song stays the same, just like the memorable moment it depicts.
Lawrence, you will be fondly remembered as the songs of your life will forever resonate in the minds and hearts of us, who will always treasure you
Blessings of peace and true joy.
From “earth angel"
and your attentive fluttering butterflies.
May the Lord enfold you in His mercy.
May you enjoy eternal life.
May you Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory!!
Amen Alleluia.

Life in its infinite wisdom, sometimes take away the brightest stars, leaving behind a profound void that is deeper than the ocean. As I grapple with the loss of my Dear brother Lawrence (Lorenzo), I find myself seeking solace in his memories, his love for Music and the beautiful journey that we embarked upon as siblings.
Lawrence, you were my constant companion, my partner in mischief and my best friend during our childhood days.Your sudden death hurts me very much. I can't believe that I won't hear your voice again. I'll miss our long weekly gaffes of politics and our past escapades.
Goodbye my Dearest Brother! I'll miss you and continue to hold you close to my heart. Your loving memories will be my forever keepsake.
Rest in Eternal Peace and Rise in Glory!

Lawrence Blackmore is from a family of six boys and four girls, he being the fifth child. Growing up with him was easy. He loved his family. Mom and Dad loved music and wanted us to play an instrument and only one of us eventually did; Monty. But Lawrence just loved great music, and most of it was Jazz. He ended up working at GBS. He used the opportunity to play his music and he gained a lot of listeners, even the President of Guyana, LFSB. We will miss him, especially his family. Now that he's in God's care he would be doing is second best love, sleep. Rest in peace Bro. Love always
