DONNA MARIE (SHEPHERD) COX 

With sadness and love, the family of Donna Cox announces that she passed peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024, at home with family.

Donna (Shepherd) Cox was married to her husband Murray Cox (2008) for 58 years, and she mourned the loss of their son Philip Cox (2022).  Donna is survived by her daughter Heather Cox, Phil's partner Lia Laanemets, the family of Donna's brother Charlie Shepherd (2014), neighbours in the Scarborough community where the Cox family has lived for many years, friends at Knox United Church (corner of Sheppard Avenue East and Midland Avenue), as well as relatives in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.  Donna was born September 28, 1927 and grew up in Euphemia Township on the farm of Donna's parents, Roy Shepherd (1975) and Irene (Johnston) Shepherd (1976).

Donna and Murray Cox and their children lived in Thamesville and Windsor before moving to Toronto in 1963.  For many years Donna worked at Eaton's and was an active member of Don Mills United Church and later, of Knox United Church in Agincourt.

In her retirement, Donna enjoyed many trips with her family to Europe, Alaska, Australia, New Zealand and to various destinations in Canada.

A memorial will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John's-in-the-Woods Aughrim Church, followed by interment in Aughrim Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life will follow at St. John's Hall, Aughrim.

The family wishes to acknowledge the kindness of those who visited and phoned Donna.  Thanks to Dr. Cathy Mastrogiacomo, Dr. Brett Moore, and all who proivded care and support to Donna at her home, in particular Anne Leius, Alice Dejewski (Allan), Babs (PSW), Rev. Robyn Thomson (Knox United Church), Robert Mundinger (driver) and Vinh Ma (neighbour).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aughrim Cemetery or to a charity of your choice.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Ogden Funeral Home.

St. John's-in-the-Woods Aughrim Church, Aughrim Cemetery and St. John's Hall, Aughrim are located at 7134 Aughrim Line, Bothwell, Ontario.
