Obituary of Mrs. Elsie May Lawson
Elsie May Lawson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on
March 16th 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 13, 1933 to Walter and
Frances Brownell. She raised a beautiful family with her predeceased husband, Douglas Gordon
Lawson.
Elsie leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength and warmth. She will be deeply missed by her
children, Debbie(Dan) and Greg(Donna), who will carry on her spirit of compassion and resilience.
Elsie’s presence will continue to be felt through her grandchildren, Brandon, Douglas(Megan), Mark,
and Taylor(Jean), who cherish the memories they shared with their grandmother. She was also a
cherished great-grandmother to Noah, Charlotte, Penelope, and Adelaide, who brought immense
joy into her life. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, brother/sister in laws and
many more that loved her so deeply.
In addition, Elsie leaves behind sisters Audrey, Grace, and Muriel, and brother John. Though she is
no longer with us, she joins her husband Douglas, sister Ruby and brothers Ross and Harry in
eternal peace.
Elsie’s life was characterized by her unwavering love for her family, her dedication to nurturing
relationships and her passion for creating lasting memories. Her gentle spirit and enduring love will
continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation will be held at Ogden Funeral Home in Scarborough between 4-7pm on march 21.
Funeral service to follow the next day at 1pm.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at PRHC especially the palliative ward for
their kindness and support during Elsie’s extended stay.
