Obituary of Mr. Jan Oleszkiewicz
Beloved Husband of 68 years to his Wife: Krystyna.
A Man of noble heart, compassion, generosity of kind words and kind deeds, for anyone who needed them. Never refused anyone to lend a helping hand, many times, in dramatic situations, for friends as well as strangers.
He had God given easiness to make friends, never judgmental, He had friends from all walks of life.
His integrity was a beacon for us All, at any time in our lives.
He valued education and loved teaching.
Alumni of Polytechnic University in Cracow, he got his engineering professional degrees there: Phd, Dsc.
He went on to teach, with full excitement at the University of Bagdad, in Iraq, for 5 years.
His longest 12 teaching years were spent at Ahmadu Bello University, in Zaria, Nigeria, where he taught at Building Department.
Professor loved by his students at all the places of his pedagogical vocation. He also helped many of them to develop their professional careers.
He used to say to us, if you look at yourself in the mirror, in the evening, after day gone, and you can smile, and be proud of yourself, you did your job.
Loved travelling with His Family, and thanks to Him, we travelled throughout the Middle East and then, much of southern Africa.
Now, we will still travel with Him with living memory, for He will always be with us.
May Good Lord save Him and keep Him.
Margaret and Bozena (daughters) with Mama, our Husbands (Roman and Andrew), Grandchildren (Peter and his wife Joanna, Chris and his wife Jeanna, Magda and her husband Jeffery) and Great grandchildren: Jack, Natalia and Adam.
