Obituary of Mr. Christos Kircos
CHRISTOS KIRCOS [DECEMBER 22, 1947 - JANUARY 31, 2024]
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christos Kircos, beloved and devoted husband, father, and proud Papou. He passed away peacefully, at the age of 76, with his family at his bedside. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Kalipso and his son, Bill.
Christos is survived by his daughter, Fanny and her husband, Peter. He took immense pride in being a Papou to his cherished grandsons, Nicholas and Christopher, finding constant joy in their presence.
Christos was born in Kelli (Gornichevo), Florina, Greece, to Fanny and Fillipos. He is survived by his sisters, Soultana and Maria and by his brother Peter. Growing up, Christos worked very hard to support his family during difficult times. After completing his military service, he married the love of his life, Kalipso, and then emigrated to Toronto in search of a better future. He worked numerous jobs in a variety of industries, before finding his culinary passion and opening his first restaurant, Ariston Steak & Seafood House, and subsequently becoming a successful restauranteur and businessman.
Upon retirement, Christos became a “snow bird’, spending much of his time relaxing at his condo in Florida where you would find him either in the pool or on the golf course.
Christos will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He will be remembered as a man of principle who worked extremely hard to ensure his family was well provided for. He had an uncanny zest for life and lived by the adage “better than yesterday”. Christos was a very jovial and outgoing person who had the “gift of the gab” and was known for his kindness and generosity.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the William Osler Health System for their kindness, support and care shown to Christos during his stay.
