Obituary of Miss Sophia Turner

Sophia Turner was born on December 12th. 1984, the daughter of Linton and Meretta Turner.

Sophia or Sophie, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends was a loving, beautiful  young woman who left us too soon on January 14, 2024. She was only 39 years old, but she touched the lives of all of us with her ready warm smile, and the joy she took in simple things.

Sophia was born with Down’s syndrome. She faced many challenges but she went to school, enjoyed learning and activities like swimming, she enjoyed time with her friends and family, Sophie lived a full and happy life.  

She was a fighter, a survivor, and an inspiration to all of us.

Sophie loved her family dearly, she and her Mom Merry were inseparable. Sophia was a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, she cheered everyone with her warm  hugs and brilliant smile. 

Sophie loved to dance. She would dance to entertain us, but sometimes she would dance just for herself.

She enjoyed sports, and would cheer for the Raptors along with her mom and sister. She liked cartoons and movies that made her laugh, as well as romantic movies and music videos. Sophia found joy wherever she could.

Sophie was creative, and determined. She had a knack for embroidery and made beautiful pillows which adorned her room. 

Sophia adored Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson so her sister Duan adorned her room with pictures of the Rock. Sophia delighted in this. 

Sophie's health deteriorated in the last three years of her life.   She became bedridden and she was cared for by her devoted mother Merry before she passed, and then by her sister Duan and father Linton.  We are grateful for their dedication and sacrifice to Sophie.

Sophia was a precious gift to all of us, and we miss her dearly.
