My aunt Rose also who known as aunt “Girly” was one of my favorite aunts. We lived under the same roof in Jamaica for many years. My aunt was known for her large fried dumplings that we would called “Johnny cakes”.
Aunt Girly was kind, caring and loving. She migrated to Toronto Canada in the 80’s, and I was already living in the States, but we always stayed in touch. When my aunt girly visits United States she stayed with me and we and took her everywhere, When her granddaughter got married she was here with me. My aunt means a lot to me. I would take care of her make her favorite cornmeal porridge and whatever meal she loves, I cared deeply for my aunt because I know who she was. I was just in Toronto visiting my aunt and cerebrating her 90th birthday with her and even though she was not the same I know she felt our presence.
My aunt was a dedicated mother and an excellent grandmother. She will be remembered by her kindness and goodness of the person that she was.
We are saddened but also grateful that her suffering is over and she’s off to receive her heavenly rewards.
You will be missed my my dear aunt Rest in Peace Aunt “Girly”
