It is with great sadness and heavy heart to be writing this tribute. However, you are now at peace with our heavenly father. I have great memories of you uncle, coming over to our house with such a distinct voice. We enjoyed your company, laughter and cooking skills. You are now in a better place and no more suffering.

Sending my sincerest Condolences to the family. Mr. Bernard played a huge role in my childhood. Seeing all the love and care her showered Bernadine with over those formative years of all our lives. He was always so proud of her and showed her off always. He was always so pleasant and welcoming, even as we grew up he remembered us and gushed over her. He will be missed greatly. Sending love and prayers to all the lives he affected. - Nicole Barham

It is with a heavy heart as I write this tribute. Uncle Asot, was a very kind and loving Gentleman. I have many fond memories of Uncle Asot, stemming from childhood. These are memories I will cherish Forever.
You were always so welcoming, warm and always willing to lend a helping hand. You had a very jovial spirit. “Generous” was Your Major Character trait. I remember when out of the blue, you gifted me ntoma-cloth. You considered my Siblings and I as your Own.
Uncle Thank You for Everything. Thank you for being there for my Parents, Siblings and I throughout the years. Thank You for the Surprise visits, being the Life of the Party, the Meals, the Laughter. Love, Kindness and Concern You showed towards us all.
Your Loving Presence was always felt. Kofi, Aby, Nana & I will Always Remember You. The entire Boahen Family will Miss You.
Truly, One of a Kind. May You Rest in Eternal Peace.

My heart is heavy as I write this tribute.
We are all very saddened to hear of the recent loss of Mr. Benard Osei.
He was a friend, an uncle, and great father and our hearts still aches about this shocking news.
I remember like yesterday how you never failed to visit our family almost every month during the summer and having dinner with our family and friends.
We'll really miss the bright smile that made our days. It's hard to believe that you are no more amongst us.
You'll always be remembered as my favorite uncle.
Rest well and until we meet again.
Love,
Pokuaa Boahen

Uncle Asot. Your passing was a great shock. I never thought in a million years that I would be writing a tribute about you. Since Dec 24th, I've prayed that you're resting peacefully with our heavenly Father.
The soul never dies. I'm a firm believer in this. As they say, till we meet again! Uncle Asot was undeniably one of my favorite uncles! He had a very distinct voice. At times I would imitate him just for giggles. I always knew when he was in our home because of his "voice". Very unique! And only fit for a king like him!
Uncle Asot had a unique knack in his abiliy to converse with me, or anyone for that matter about everything and anything. He would often tease me but it was always in good faith.
I remember on your last visit to our home we chatted about life and politics. Only to know that this would be the last time I would see you.
Uncle Asot had impeccable taste for fashion. He had great attention to detail. He even introduced my Father to a local suit shop where he would frequently shop. Uncle Asot, your memory and who you were as a man will never die. You will always have a place in my heart. You were one in a million. Uncle Asot, may you rest in eternal peace. God bless you and your children Bernadine and Anthony.
Peace and blessings,
Maame Boahen.

Tribute by Nana Boahen
The sudden demise of Bernard Osei-Kwabena (ASOT) hit me like a Thunderbolt. I am still in shock and in disbelief. “Oh Kwabena, aden?”
I was with the belief that you will recuperate and join us back home but, alas it was not meant to be. The Good Lord your Maker has called you to Glory to rest in the bosom of Nana Abraham. The will of God Reigns and Endures Forever.
I have known ASOT for decades since infancy. His kindness, compassion, generosity and respect for his friends and Humanity was par excellence. Kwabena, as I affectionately called him, was very charitable with his resources and time. He shared everything he had with his fellow human-being. He spent quality time helping others with problems. His selflessness and readiness to help are his trademarks.
ASOT loved Life. He was at the center of our parties or the main man of our gatherings. He
loved entertainment and was a good organizer. You can always tell that his joy and happiness is at its peak when everyone around him is happy.
Kwabena will make sure that everyone is all right and enjoying themselves. He loved and enjoyed good music, especially High-Life music. He had excellent collections of High-Life music. His collections of old hits included Uhuru, Stargazers, Messengers, Globe-Masters, Pat Thomas and many of the High-Life Greats. He loved Jazz and music in general.
ASOT and I shared the same birthdays; 7th June; we were Geminis and we congratulated each other and celebrated our birthdays together almost every year. I will miss his calls on this special day of ours.
Spiritually, ASOT was a devout practicing Catholic. He was an active and participating member of the “Legion of Mary”, where as a member routinely visited the sick and those in palliative care. We attended and participated in a number of Catholic retreats together. I am grateful to you for the invitations you extended to me for our spiritual renewals.
ASOT loved fashion. His wardrobe consisted of top-notch designer items. He had good taste and was very trendy. Ferragamo, Tom Ford, Gucci and the rest were his favorites. He loved top of the line perfumes and colognes. His love for fashion was evidenced in his casual and formal clothes he wore. He had an excellent collection of shoes. His taste was dynamic and was very particular about what he wears on different occasions. He was a well-dressed gentleman.
We spoke briefly at your bedside at the hospital. It never crossed my mind that you were in the process of joining your Maker. I am certain that you knew where you were going. You served the Lord very well as a faithful Catholic and I believe that God will give you a perfect resting place in His kingdom.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace my Brother.
Damirifa; Damirifa Due Kwabena Asotia. May your gentle soul rest well with your Maker.
Fare Thee Well!

Losing a family friend is one of the hardest experiences that one can go through.
I still can’t believe that Asot is gone.
Asot was such a marvellous person.
I will never forget you, Asot.
Asot and his friends on numerous occasions were our guests at our residence in Brampton.
He loved to party with us and loved eating good food.
I admire his taste for Designer Fashion.
He once came to our house to show me his line of FERRAEGAMO SHOES and his expensive CREED COLOGNE PERFUMES.
He loved Highlife music particularly, “UHURU Dance Band.”
One of his favourite songs by “Uhuru” was a re-mix titled “Kwasi Adu, Waaware Ne Ba.”
Asot was a culinary expert.
One of his best preparation was “Emo Tuo” (Rice Balls).
Asot, how can I forget the sumptuous “Emo Tuo” and the soups you often prepared and shared with us at our residence?
His last Big party he threw for one of his best friends Kofi Olans at our place was in summer 2022.
He was full of vigour as usual at this gathering.
One thing about Asot is; his happiness is at peak when everybody is happy.
He will spend his last dollar to entertain and enjoy.
He was very kind and generous.
I pray that The Good Lord grant his soul A Peaceful Resting Place.
I know Asot is in a better place with no more pain and suffering.
ASOT, GOODBYE AND REST WELL.

Tribute by Mrs. Elizabeth Osei-Kwebena
I met Bernard when I was 16 years old. Not only did he embrace me as someone he loved and cherished, he extended that kindness to my entire family. Bernard was responsible for sponsoring me and bringing me to Canada. He also ensured that my mother had the opportunity to travel overseas but coming to Canada not once but three times. My entire family remembers him for the incredible human being he was and are forever grateful for what he did for us and the life he gave me, the beautiful daughter we had together and the countless memories we have shared as a family throughout his lifetime. He lived an exemplary life of what it was to be an honourable husband, father, brother and friend to many who had an encounter worth him.
We had truly joyful years of the deepest love, marriage, and partnership that I could imagine. He gave me the experience of being deeply understood, truly supported and completely and utterly loved – and I will carry that with me always. Most importantly, he gave me the most amazing child in the world in my daughter Bernadine (his name sake). He was the most amazing father a woman could ever want for her child.
He is gone now. My daughter is grieving and I grieve with and for her. My grief isn’t just for him but for the family. I will forever carry the name he gave me when he called me his wife- Mrs. Elizabeth Osei-Kwebena.

Kwabena, I am blessed to have spent some time with you at your bedside on December 9th and 10th. Before we parted on Sunday, December 10th, we agreed that you’d wait for my next visit before the end of the year. Unfortunately, that was not be as death laid its icy hands on you and won’t let go.
I am still in shock and can’t fathom that you are no longer with us. I can’t accept that I now refer to you in the past tense. The void you have left cannot be filled by anyone because Kwabena, you were special and one of a kind. That notwithstanding, I feel so blessed to have called you a good friend who doubled as a senior brother. Your selflessness, wisdom, affability and good nature is seared in my brain and can neither be emulated nor duplicated.
I am forever grateful for the precious time we spent together in Toronto during my three year posting to Canada and additionally, south of the border in the USA.

From Ernest Kyere and Family:
Bernard, we don't know how to put into words how we love you. Kwabena, we have known each other forever! but God saw that you were getting tired-
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put His arms around you and whispered, " Come to me". With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay, your golden heart stopped beating and hard working hands are at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
Kwabena, we are gong to miss you very much! Your love for family and friends will be a good lesson for us to imitate. May God almighty find you a beautiful place in His beautiful kingdom.

I had the privilege to have met late Mr Bernard Osei-Kwabena physically, few weeks to his passing on to rest with the Lord when i visited him at the hospital.
However, I had met him several times through Bernadine, his daughter while Bernadine and I both worked together in the course of her business because she will not cease to talk about her Dad and her Dad would also always call her on the phone to check on her. Then, I could feel the strong bond between a loving and dotting Father and a darling daughter brought up in love. Their connection reminds me always of the same kind of bond i shared with my late Dad and I found myself being concerned about Bernadine's Dad's well being and I would always ask about him from Bernadine.
Indeed, late Mr Bernard was a dutiful father and fine gentleman who raised a daughter who is such a beautiful soul, kindhearted, industrious, selfless, strong woman yet humble with capability for endless possibilities in life. He loved his daughter so much as to have hid the illness and pains he suffered from her until he could not hide it anymore, and Bernadine with the support of other persons took care of him till he died.
I pray Bernadine, late Mr Bernard Osei-Kwabena's family members and friends find comfort and strength in God's word at this time of grief and always, and be encouraged with the beautiful memories shared while he was alive.
May God's grace be with us all..Amen.
Sincere condolences!
From,
Temitayo Abodunrin.

The most distinct features I remember about my 'big Bro' Asot, were the aurae of finesse and authenticity that he possessed. He had impeccable manners, whenever I saw him. He was elated when I launched the African Queen cosmetics line. I will never forget his scrumptious omu tuo, with all the trimmings.
Big Bro, saying goodbye so soon, feels terribly wrong!
Nevertheless, we celebrate your life and remember the laughter, joy and love, you brought into many lives. We will honor your legacy and cherish the beautiful memories that we have of you..
My precious Big Bro Asot, rest peacefully amidst the saints in glory. We will miss you dearly! Our loss, is heaven's gain.

Only 2 words describe you! “Good Man”. My last interaction with you was at Wal Mart! We had a long conversation and when I went to pay for my item you quickly paid for it! You are one person who spoke positive words to me on my journey of making a difference! You always told me you know it’s hard but the world needs me, you will never know what those words meant in my most difficult days! You always reminded me of how you always fed me Milo as a baby! I walked into the hospital and told you I am coming to feed you Milo, you said “3nuaa nunu” and smiled! A week later you were gone! Rest in heavenly perfect peace! Get the rest you deserve! You served God and humanity well! Rest Very Well. Wofa Asot!

Bernard went all out to help everyone that needed help that he could help. I remember in March 1986 when he was told l needed a visa to come to Canada and l was then in London England Asotia sent me a letter from his lawyer’s office. In that letter he guaranteed that he would be responsible for my upkeep and any help that l might need while in Canada. For this reason l was given the visa to Canada without any questions. I have built a family for myself in Canada. Asot myself and family say “thank you!” I attribute any achievements that me and my family have made to you Asot.
