Kevin was a wonderful colleague and friend. Her never ending cheerfulness and optimism in the most stressful of circumstances was incredible. I had the pleasure of working with her for my eleven years at GSK and we kept in touch for many years afterwards. Her ability to cross the academic and business worlds with ease was remarkable and was a testament to her boundless enthusiasm and deep knowledge. Her curiosity never faltered. You will be missed Kevin.

To Markus, Stefan and families,
I first met Kevin on the U.of T. Swim Team, and as a classmate in the Honour Science Program 7T0. She was always cheerful, bubbly and enthusiastic She helped me to improve my guitar playing. I attended a few folk masses at St.Michael's Cathedral, when she was participating. We organized two reunions of the Biology Club Alumni, and Kevin ahd Claudius attended - It was great to see them. I live in Northern NB, and don't keep in touch very well. When Claudius passed away, I contacted Kevin by email, and sent a card to the house. She appreciated it. During Covid, someone suggested a Zoom Reunion, and Kevin was looking forward to it, but it never happened, regretfully. . Last summer, when I was visiting my sister in Toronto, I called Kevin. We had a great chat for over an hour, about old friends and catching up on each other's lives. I'm so glad I called her then. I will miss her. My sincere condolences to all the family. I will be giving a donation to the University of Toronto School of Medicine, Dept of Pharmacology and Toxicology, in her memory. I'm still swimming in a Masters group, playing guitar, and singing alto in church choirs.
Your Sincerely - Nancy Scott-Langille, Tide Head, NB langil@nbnet.nb.ca

I remember as if it was yesterday when Kevin visited us in Switzerland for the first time and brought the guitar with her. We sang and laughed together, and Kevin told us about a world that was foreign to us at the time.
Later we were able to visit the Fehr family in Toronto several times and Kevin and Claudi were also often our guests in Switzerland.
It is so sad that we will not be able to visit them again.
Our thoughts are with the family, and we wish you lots of strength for this difficult time.

Martha and I were shocked and deeply saddened by this news that Kevin had died. Martha knew Kevin at St. Joseph's College School and enjoyed their bus rides home from school. I knew Kevin as a member of the U of T Zoology Department's Biology Club and as a fellow student in Life Sciences. Kevin was a keen student, loved biology and was a very important member of our Club which I believe she chaired in 4th year. My memories come from our Club's field trips to Algonquin Park in the fall. I found it difficult to learn of this latest tragedy in the O'Brien family. May Kevin rest in peace.

Kevin had a wonderful sense of humor, a contagious laugh, and a story (or two) to tell.
We remember fondly an amazing summer dinner party when Kevin left the table to take a quick dip in the pool to cool off. Had I brought my swim suit, I would have joined her. Claudius served a different wine with every course. A very memorable evening of fun and laughter.
She would have been very proud of you Stefan and Markus for the wonderful music and tribute at St. Anselm's.

My favourite memory is of Markus and Kevin taking a dip in Cole Lake as part of our viewing of the property. This will be my favourite memory of both Kevin as her go get'er spirit and tenacity to take a swim after hiking into the property was both inspirational and impactful. She had a heart of gold and has truly created a legacy in her children. Cole Lake will always hold fond memories of that moment.
My sincere condolences...xo MamaD

It was always an exciting day when Kevin and Claudius would visit the Bean family "terrace" for a summer barbeque with Aunt Peggy and Uncle Gus and Patsy and Ed. Tales of long distance swim's, PHD pursuits and marijuana plants growing in the window of her room made Kevin an exciting and exotic cousin, for sure!. Such a warm smile and easy laugh. She will be missed. Condolences to Markus and Stefan on your loss. Sincerely, Brad and Lynn Bean.

I've had a little time to gather some of my thoughts and memories about Kevin - though I could never completely capture the entirety of her positive influence on my life, no matter how much time I was given. I think about Kevin whenever I play one of the New York Times' word games because I know she would have solved it faster or better. If I look back, I know my curiosity about the universe and its workings was fostered by how she helped me with school science projects. The Fehr household was always a home away from home for me, and our Thanksgivings together were all about warmth and comfort and love. I always admired how she could sing and play guitar; it’s hard to imagine how someone could be so good at so many things - caring about both animals and people, learning, laughing, loving.

It was very sad to hear of Kevin's passing. My condolences to the whole family. I was the CEO of GSK and Kevin was an exemplary employee and integral part of our team. She always impressed me with her professionalism and the important contributions she made to the business. Even more important Kevin was a positive and warm person who was a delight to know and work with.

My wife, Marion, and I got to know Kevin and Claudius when we temporarily moved to Toronto (from the UK) in 2006 to work for GSK at CAMH. As my de facto local manager Kevin made my working life a lot easier, and dinner with her and Claudius always helped us feel like we were home away from home. We kept in touch with Kevin and Claudius when we moved back to Europe, and always tried to meet up with them when we came back to Toronto. Living in the US now we happened to be in Toronto this November and invited Kevin out for lunch, but sadly didn’t hear back from her. We don’t know the family but Kevin always spoke so very warmly and proudly of you all, that we are sure she will be sadly missed. Kevin always struck me as not just a positive person, but someone who had a positive impact on those she interacted with. At this time of loss we hope you can take some comfort in a life well lived.

Dear Stefan, Andrea, Markus, Vicky and family,
We are so very sorry for your loss.
Please accept our sincere condolences.
How deeply saddened we are to lose Kevin so suddenly and so prematurely.
Our memories of Kevin and Claudius centre around their kitchen, cooking breakfast for Joe, our son, who spent many sleepovers at their home.
In our hearts, they were second parents to Joe. We can never forget that.
Kevin always made the time to stop by and chit chat over coffee and birthday cake when she came to our home to pick up Stefan at Joe's birthday parties. She remained the only parent who did that consistently.
James and I loved her presence, sharing laughs and stories.
I will greatly miss the exchange of our emails over the last few years.
Kevin will live on in our hearts.
We will continue to be heartened with memories of her charming smile and unassuming ways, as she brought joy to all who spent time with her.
Dear family, may her memories be your blessing.
We are so very sorry to be missing Kevin's funeral, since we will be leaving the country prior to that. However, our prayers for her will not cease.
May our Kevin rest in peace.
With much love and gratitude for Kevin's friendship and yours,
James and Sara

Despite the fact that our great grandfathers were brothers, and that Kevin and I attended the same grade and high schools, somehow we never connected until about 15 years ago, following a reunion at St. Joseph's College School. That's when I realized what I had missed out on. Since then, Nancy Mourad and I have shared many happy times together: walking in Edward's Gardens, Brimley Woods, or the Distillery District; visiting each others' homes; Christmas shopping at Bayview Village; attending her and Claudi's paella party. How we loved sitting under her arbor on a sunny day, as she grilled shrimp for lunch, and we admired her gorgeous garden and contemplated a dip in the pool. The research skills she used in her work spilled over to her personal life, and made her an expert in Ancestry searches - a fact that I, as a kinsman, truly appreciated. We have lost a great spirit in Kevin, but heaven has gained an angel.
