We gather to remember and celebrate the extraordinary life of a woman who held many titles: Olga "Ena" Rodrigues, a devoted wife, a loving mother, a grandmother, a cherished sister, an aunt, and a friend to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Born on July 9th, 1933, Grandma's life was woven with threads of love, faith, generosity, and a vibrant appreciation for life. She embraced her roles with dedication and warmth, leaving an indelible mark on all of us. As a Grandmother, she was the heart of our family, radiating love and providing a safe haven for us all. Her kitchen was not just a place for meals but a sanctuary of love and comfort. Her food was more than sustenance—it reflected her nurturing spirit. She ensured there was always enough to share, creating a sense of warmth and belonging. Beyond the walls of our home, Ena extended her caring nature to the broader community. She was among our family's first to embark on the immigration journey to Canada, a courageous step that paved the way for many others and gave us a chance at a better life. Her compassion knew no bounds, and she actively assisted and supported those seeking a new life in this adopted land. Grandma became a beacon of hope for those navigating the challenges of a new beginning. Her dedication to the well-being of others was not limited to her immediate family; it extended to the community she embraced. Grandma's acts of kindness, whether through a shared meal, a comforting word, or a helping hand, exemplified her commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those around her. In addition to her nurturing spirit, Ena had a passion for music and dance. The rhythm of life resonated within her, and she could often be found tapping her feet to a melody or dancing joyfully.
