Obituary of Mrs. Erlinda Vicencio
Surrounded by her husband and children, Erlinda Maniego Vicencio was called home by our Lord on November 30, 2023. Her final moments emulated how she chose to live her life - peacefully, humbly and faithfully.
Erlinda (also referred to as Linda or Erlie) was born in Manila, Philippines on December 14, 1950 to Felisa and German Maniego (both predeceased). She married her husband and dance partner, Rolando Vicencio on May 12, 1973 and started building their beautiful family. With their 2 young children, Erlinda and Rolando made the decision to immigrate to Canada in 1976. After settling into their new home, they welcomed another child. As a dedicated bank employee and with over 30 years of service, Erlinda retired from Bank of Montreal in 2011.
Erlinda found joy in traveling the world. Her home proudly displays the souvenirs from her travels to multiple countries within 4 continents. She also considered gardening a labour of love. But what she cherished and enjoyed the most was cooking for her family, especially her grandchildren. Lola’s adobong crab will be missed most of all.
It is without question that Erlinda will be remembered as soft-spoken, brave, generous, caring and dependable, who loved and protected her family. Until the end, she laughed and lived life to the fullest.
Erlinda will remain forever in the hearts of her husband Rolando, children Abigail, John, Penny and Gail and grandchildren Jared, Justin, Jace, Juliana and Jocelyn. Her life’s mission as a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, godmother, cousin, neighbour and friend is now fulfilled and her memory and legacy will live on through all of us.
