Obituary of Ms. Luvisminda "Lucy" Anasco Aquino
September 19, 1941 – November 29, 2023
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved sister, aunt, and friend, Luvisminda (Lucy) Anasco Aquino, on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at the age of 82 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her dear friend, Milagros Vindua; brothers, Roberto Aquino, Pacquito Aquino; sisters, Sonia Mutia Aquino, Mary Loretta Aquino; nieces, Cherry Aquino Gagajena, Roselle Aquino-Tse, Marilou Aquino Alinsug; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Saturnino and Maria Ultima Aquino; brothers, Agripino, Jesus; sisters, Carmelita and Evangeline.
Born into humble beginnings in Talisayan, Philippines with a large, loving family, Lucy transcended the challenges of poverty to achieve success at school, career, and in life. Lucy earned a Bachelor of Education at Lourdes College in Cagayan De Oro, teaching for over 10 years in the Philippines before emigrating to Canada with her brother, Roberto, in 1972. After a long, successful career, she retired from Ontario Teacher’s Pension Board in 2006 to travel around the world with her dear friend, Milagros, on pilgrimages in Italy, France, Spain, and the Holy Land. Lucy also found great community and happiness as a member of the church choir at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Lucy will forever be remembered for her love, kindness, and generosity to all her friends and family.
A visitation will be held at 5:00 – 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Ogden Funeral Home.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
