Dear Friends and Family of the late Mrs. Maria Hall, are invited to register for a private Celebration Of Life being held in lieu of a public service. Please RSVP on the link further below.

Born into very humble beginnings in Gracenica Croatia, the family lived in a one room log cabin, and everyone worked on the farm and in their vineyards. After completing her Hair Stylist apprenticeship in Germany, Maria and George, her late 1st husband of 26 yrs, immigrated to Canada in 1967 with a borrowed $50 and a 5-year-old little girl.

Within 5 years, they bought a house and Maria was successfully operating her own beauty salon in Scarborough, and by this time was also fluent in English (her 3rd language). She went on to own several other beauty salons and was also a hair stylist for the TV station Channel 9 (Cable 8) CTV in Scarborough.

She literally traveled the world with Donald, her late very loving 2nd husband of 30+ years. They were AVID gardeners whose home was a stop on the Whitby Garden Tour. She was thrilled when the Catholic Church honored her for outstanding charity work, with a trip to Italy to see Rome and the Pope.

Maria always said she never felt any older than her 29 years (*wink). She was very grateful for her full life and accepted her cancer diagnosis the same way she lived, with courage and grace.

Maria was the always stylish mother and ideal role model of a ‘70’s liberated woman, to her loving daughter Zrinka. She was predeceased by her Partisan father Josip who died in WWII, her loving, tough as nails mother the late Ana, her very kind Step Father the late Rudolf, her loving brother the late Ivan & his wife, the late Katharina. Maria was the “cool” Aunt to Goran and Snjezana and Great Aunt to their loving son Daniel.

Maria happily adopted her 3 loving adult step children Cheryl (and husband Bill) Lori-Ann (and partner Al) and Kevin. Maria was the loving step grandmother of Nathan (and wife Carrie), Nicole (and husband Brenden), Jenny (and husband Kevin), Julie (and wife Amber) and was tragically predeceased by Richard. Maria was also blessed to be a step Great Grandmother to Jackson, Luke, Jace, Colton, Isabelle, Ethan and Sebastian.
