Mr. Monohar Parrab

Obituary of Mr. Monohar Parrab

Please share a memory of Mr. Monohar to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On Thursday October 26th, 2023, our beloved father, grand- and great- grandfather Monohar Parrab passed away peacefully at the age of 96 joining his beloved soulmate Sumedha and his loving parents. Mono, (aka, Baba, Aiyee, Grandpa, Monuda, Mesho) to his children, grand-children, extended family and friends, was an inspiration and role model to all. His boundless energy, zest for life, powerful intellect, insatiable curiosity and love for his family and friends will forever be a beacon for lighting up the future. He was born in Calcutta in 1927, and set sail for London for his studies (as a chemist) on the eve of India’s independence in 1947. His forty years working with Bata International took him around the world, spending much time in Latin America. He was an avid sports enthusiast and especially loved playing soccer and tennis.  After retirement he dabbled with tabla and piano lessons and volunteered with CESO. A gastronome, loving husband, father and grandfather but above all a truly generous and kind-hearted man until his last day, Monohar will be fondly and lovingly remembered by his countless extended family and friends. Monohar is survived by his daughter (Ranu) and son-in-law (Arijit), son (Raju), grandchildren (Rahul (Elle), Jai, Rohan (Amiee), Vivek (Ruhani) and Cindul) and great grandchildren (Isabelle, Zach, Aria and Miffy).  Deep gratitude is extended to the exceptional care and love he received by the staff at Seven Oaks, especially during his final weeks. Please join us as we celebrate the life of Monohar on Saturday November 4th (1 pm – 4 pm) at 87 Chartway Blvd, Scarborough, Ontario.
