On October 1, Maura Fernandez passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 87.

 

As the loving matriarch of the family, Maura’s thoughtfulness and warmth touched the hearts of everyone she met. She will be fondly remembered for her dedication to her family and many friends, her lifelong devotion to Christ and Our Blessed Mother, and for her ability to celebrate life and find joy in each moment.

 

Maura is survived by her loving and devoted husband Eulogio (EJ) and six children: Clyde (Christine), Zelma (Damian), Glynnis (Charles), Janice (Cliff), Wendy (James) and Merella (Tony). She will be missed as a beloved grandmother to her eight grandchildren and five great-grandsons.

 

Cherished by her parents, the late Pascal John and the late Sophie (Florrie) Fernandes and survived by her sister Phil (Neville). Predeceased by her siblings the late Rita (the late AR), the late Celine (the late Joe), the late Maurice (the late Antoinette), and the late Robert.

 

Maura will be missed by her many friends and extended family for her generosity, humour and kindness.
