Obituary of Mr. Harry Dasrath

Harry Sonny Dasrath: February 2, 1935- September 9, 2023 (Age 88)

> Harry was born to his mother Deen and father Manu Dasrath on Feb 2nd 1935, in Plaisance-Guyana and was the eldest of 11 children.

> While in Guyana, Harry was a hard working man who had many jobs, one of them being an engineer to provide for his late wife Lucille and six children Eileen, Arlene, Richard, Ingrid, Rudolph and Rohan.

> Upon immigrating to Canada by himself in 1972, Harry worked at various companies while providing financial support to his family who were still in Guyana. Once his family arrived to Canada in 1974, Harry persevered through many challenges to ensure his family was very well taken care of. The last company he worked for was Nestle before he retired.

> Harry was a fearless individual and a man of faith! He was dedicated to raising his children in the house of the Lord. Some of Harry’s qualities are he was compassionate, respectful, responsible, selfless, loyal, courageous and loving! He was also a pet lover and owned two cats.

> Harry faced health issues with diabetes and later in life dementia. As his symptoms developed, his independence was challenged and in 2017 was transitioned into a retirement home. It was at that point his children intervened and sought out the best care to ensure Harry was taken care of.

> Harry was survived by 1 sister and 2 brothers. Harry is survived by 5 children eight grandchildren- Jennifer, Shanise, Natasha, Christi, Brittany, Alim, Rahim and Jayden. As well as 1 great granddaughter Kiana. Harry is now reunited with his beloved daughter Arlene who passed away in 2006 and is now with our Lord and Savior.
