Obituary of Mrs. Gloria Knight
Gloria Viola Knight, passed to her rest on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023. She was born to Darrell and Elaine Bowen in the beautiful Island of Barbados, West Indies. She migrated to Montreal, Canada on October 10, 1971, and later relocated to Toronto Canada.
Gloria loved and served the Lord with all her heart. She was a baptized member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and worshipped at the Apple Creek and then the Shiloh churches.
Gloria loved and adored her family unconditionally. She is survived by her husband, Anthony Knight; their children Shauna and Derick Knight (Rebecca); their four grandchildren, Daishaun, Keyon, Kai and Sasha. Her siblings, Thorquil (Alwyn) Bowen (Doleen), Norma Knight (Irvin), Joan Beresford (Godfrey), Vincent Bowen (Betty), and Jeffrey Bowen. 7 Nieces; 8 nephews; 12 great nieces; 14 great nephews. Her cousins from the Medford, Babb, Bowen, Brian, Ward, and Kirton families in Barbados and overseas. And a host of friends from here in Canada, and world over.
We, her family, are very grateful to God for the seventy-three plus years that He lent Gloria to us. She battled illness for the last twenty-three years of her life. She never gave up. She had a very positive and cheerful attitude, and would always bounce back, continuing to shower her unselfish love on her family, relatives, friends, and anyone who needed her help.
Family, Relatives, and Friends, God has given our dear loved one her rest from all the pain and suffering. It hurts, but we look forward to meeting her in the Earth Made New. Signs all around us are telling and reminding us all that we need to prepare to meet our God.
We are requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University Health Network in her memory.
