Uncle Don, Laurie, Lisa, Paul and Families, our family was so sorry to receive the news that Aunt Helen had passed. Marg and Ken Rohland had a friendship with Uncle Don and Aunt Helen that began in the early 1950's and lasted a lifetime. Our two families enjoyed many visits and camping adventures and Uncle Don and Aunt Helen travelled with our parents in their retirement years. Aunt Helen was warm and caring and will never be forgotten. Thank you for all the wonderful memories. Karyn (Rohland) Spierenburg and Family

Dear Steven Family,
We are very sorry to hear of your loss.
Helen, or "Mrs. Steven" to me was a wonderful neighbour. Growing up in the 70's we knew all of our neighbours, visited their homes, knew their children (in my case Paul), and it provided us with a sense of safety and community. I'm not sure that neighbourhoods exist like this now, but I hope they do.
My memory of Mrs. Steven is one of fun, grace, deep kindness, a measured and intellectual woman. On behalf of the Hall family I hope the grief of the days ahead are lessened by the memory of her and the many blessings she brought to her family, neighbours and community.

Dear Don & family.
Sending our deepest sympathy at this time.
We have such fond memories of our visit to Canada and our stay with Helen & Don. We had the warmest welcome and they made our trip so special, a chance to build our ‘Canadian’ family connection and to get to know them more. It was lovely to receive their Christmas cards each year, catch-up with family news and keep the link.
You’re in our thoughts and prayers. Love from Dianne (Bateman), Graham, Becca, Beth & Chris Johnson.

Helen's loving kindness and her complete acceptance and welcoming of me into the Diamond family meant the world to me.
The times we spent together in their beautiful home so filled with warmth and love were so special---treasured, forever memories for sure.
Our phone conversations were always enjoyable and always centered on our mutual love of nature---birds, animals, flowers and trees especially.
She was a very special lady, an honour to know. Plus seeing her and Don together, witnessing their devoted committment to each other, their on-going love, was a gift to behold. Don, please know that our hearts are with you at this very difficult time.
Thank you, Helen for the ways you enriched our lives.
With infinite love and gratitude,
Cousins Lynn (and Ross) Diamond

Love to Don and all the family.
So many, many wonderful memories of Helen. Visiting the farm for many gatherings as our children arrived over the years. Remembering that Liz, Pete and Paul heard great stories of their Dad Ken, who lived with Helen and family on the farms.
And my closest friend growing up and adulthood was dear Shirley, her sister. What stories we created for Helen to laugh about.
Helen was great at keeping in touch over the years and would give a phone call after Christmas cards.
Love to all Wendy and family

Heartfelt condolences to Paul, Lesley, Neal, Clare, Bridget and the entire Steven family. Through the celebration of Helen’s life and inevitable tears, may you also find fond memories, healing laughter and an even greater closeness. She was clearly an amazing woman, who leaves a strong legacy. Undoubtedly she will be missed, but not forgotten.

To the Kindest Sister-in-law and Aunt:
We will never be able to thank you enough for all you have done for our family over the years. You were always there when we needed you - a sick nephew or niece, a trip to the hospital - not to mention an over-wrought, screaming toddler who was dropped off on your doorstep by Dr. Moffatt!
Our children will never forget how special you and Don were in their lives and neither will we. Your kindness, helpfulness over the years was far more than we every expected. We learned so much from you, which we never will forget.
Our favourite saying in the past and will always be in any situation that arises when we're unsure of how to react: "What would Aunt Helen say or do?"
Rest in Peace and know how much we love you.
Peter, Diana & family

You are all very special and mom loved you so much (dad too)! There were so many get-togethers, summer picnics, trips to the CNE, a bus that appeared as if by magic, fun and sad occasions but mom and dad could always count on you, your support, your friendship and love. You are the most amazing family. They both always had such treasured memories of their time with you as we all do. Love Lisa
