Mrs. Icelyn Pink (née Oliver), affectionately known as “Olive” and “Belzie”, was born on November 7, 1931, at Brown’s Hall, St. Catherine, Jamaica and passed away peacefully in Scarborough, Ontario on July 17, 2023. During her career, Belzie worked for London Transport in the UK, and then provided homecare for the elderly in Canada and the US. She was the Oliver family’s matriarch and cared deeply about her relatives whether they lived in North America, Europe, or the Caribbean. Belzie was predeceased by her husband Lloyd, brothers Noel, Joseph, Aston, Vincent, Clifton, and Vivian, and sisters Hyacinth, Velma and Euna. She is survived by her children Raymond, Doreen (Michael Jones), Michael (Ava), and Maxine, brothers Hilford and Winston (Valerey), her sister Dorothy (Vincent), thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was adored and treasured by all who loved her. The Homegoing service will begin immediately after the visitation on July 29 at Global Kingdom Ministries. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the service will be available at gkmevents.ca. The service will be followed by a burial at Resthaven Memorial Gardens located at 2700 Kingston Road (at Brimley) in Scarborough. Belzie was always there to offer a word of wisdom, a knowing smile, or a humorous comment to warm our souls. While her passing saddens us, she lives on in our hearts and our memories. Thank you to the many families and friends who have sent their love and support these past few days – we are grateful for all your kind thoughts and well wishes. She will be dearly missed and eternally loved.
