Obituary of Mrs. Florence May Fern

Florence Fern passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Sunnybrook Hospital on July 18, 2023. Florence was born June 1929 in Hamilton, Ont. to Florence and Wilfred Axford. The youngest of five children, Florence was the last surviving sibling. Florence spent 64 happy years with her husband Robert (Bob) Fern (deceased 2016). Favourite pastimes included annual visits to Fern Resort and weekly bridge games. Florence was the lead Alto in the Hamilton Choir during her younger years, and we enjoyed the sound of her wonderful voice as we grew up. Florence was known for her quick wit, good sense of humour and the love she shared for her family.

Florence is survived by her children, Susan (John), Carol (Dan), Patricia (Dave). She will be missed by her grandchildren Holly, Kelly, Johnathan and Christopher as well as her great grandchildren Savannah and Nathanael. Florence also leaves behind many nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank family physician Dr. Tom Bacher for his many years of diligent care of Bob and Florence. 

Visitation will be at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. East, Friday July 21st at 2-4 p.m., with a funeral service on Monday July 24th at 3 p.m.
