I thoroughly enjoyed working as a nurse with Dr. Michael Fair during his whole career in Agincourt. He was a wonderful Doctor to work for. All his patients had great respect for him.
My sister Alberta and I visited him on June 2. Alberta told him it was 66 years ago that day he delivered her second son Dennis and Michael said to wish him a happy birthday.
He was still active at Scarborough Retirement Home as he had a meeting to attend after our visit.
Our condolences to Michael’s whole family and friends.

What can I say about my Dad? I have had him on a pedestal for as long as I can remember. I adored him. Life is diminished without him but I am a better person because of him.

Our sympathies go to Michael’s family. As neighbours of Michael’s at MasarykPark Homes, we got to know him through his leadership on the board. He also earned a great deal of respect for his work on the gardens around the property. A few years ago, my Mum, Orma Andrews, also moved into SRR. We often saw Michael and enjoyed short chats with him. He will be missed by many in both of those communities as a fine and gentle man. We regret that we cannot attend his funeral today to pay our respects in person.

I still remember Dr. Fair from when I was young boy growing up in Agincourt. He was friendly and kind- the type of doctor who didn't scare young patients.
My condolences to Kathryn and family.

Kathy and Diane:
Ramona and I wish to extend our sincere condolences to you on the passing of your Dad, "Uncle Mike". He was truly and honourable and compassionate man. I will always remember him for his kindness and for his genuine willingness to listen to others and extend a helping hand to others either by way of his medical genius or his boundless charity. We all can take comfort that through his deeply-held Christian faith, he will be eternally reunited with your Mom, "Aunt Eleanor" in heaven.
May the support of family and friends comfort you in this - your time of grief. May your great father rest in eternal peace.
With sorrow,
Ken Dechert

Dr. Fair was one of the nicest people I have ever met. He had a heart as big as Mother Nature. I not only truly loved the man but also respected every interaction I ever had with him.
He truly cared about others and this was manifested in all the patients fortunate enough to have availed of his professional capabilities over the years. He so strongly believed in these responsibilities that I honestly believe he would have worked for free so long as the occupation was medicine.
Kathryn once told me that once the government had created OHIP and simplified the billing process i.e. the government paying doctors in the early 60's. Dr Fair was ecstatic because he would no longer have to be a bill collector as he felt terrible about collecting money for his services. Especially those who did not have the financial resources.
He was truly a one of a kind and his family and profession were extremely important to him.
He will be missed by all who knew him
it is unfortunate that at 93 he outlived all his close friends and professional associates as I am sure they all would have only positive things to say about their friendship or professional association.
The following Biblical quote exemplifies Michael Fair .......... If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also
We should all aspire to be what Michael was.
Love always

They say no woman ever gets over her father, and that she compares all the men in her life to him. That’s a hard test: my father was the kindest, gentlest, most selfless person I’ve ever known. I idolized him as a child, and I’ve never gotten over it. I will miss him greatly.
