Obituary of Mr. Westbourne Ellis Powell

Westbourne Ellis Powell, age 90 years, passed away at Sundown on Thursday, May 4,
2023 surrounded by friends and family while in the comfort of his wife’s loving embrace.
Westbourne fondly known as Cecil was born on December 2, 1932 in Manchester,
Jamaica born to and raised by the late Viola and John Vernal Powell. He was the 3rd
child of 10 children.
Westbourne was employed by TTC for 18 years; and held many positions. He drove
buses, Wheel Trans and lastly became a ticket collector at the Kennedy booth.
Westbourne was a devout Christian, family man who loved and cherished his family. He
was always overjoyed to be in the presence of his friends where he would entertain
them by preparing meals, play games of cards, dominos, music and dance the night
away. Whilst at parties, he was the life of the celebration and shone on the dance floor.
Westbourne is survived by his First wife Lelieth and children -Tony, Audrey, Sandra and
Colin; Grand and great grand children, Leveene, Chantae, Kamal, Karvelle, Zinedine,
Zulekha, Makiri, Zi’Anna, Santana, Khalece; as well as his step-children - Mardie
(Josephine), Gelyn (Ron); step-grandchildren - Lathan, Jaden, Kaydielyn, Ericka, Ricka,
Sabrina, Bella, and Mharc; and Gloria, his loving wife for 32 years who cared and loved
him unconditionally.
