Obituary for Louise Christina Amelia Enniss
Louise Christina Amelia Enniss (nee Joseph) passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.
Born on September 19, 1929, in Ithaca, Berbice, Guyana, she was the last child and only daughter of Gauntlet and Louisa Joseph (both deceased) of Ithaca, Guyana, baby sister to her four adoring brothers, Colin, Edward, Michael, and Hector (all deceased) and one sister, Eugenie (deceased). Louise was sister-in-law to Charles and Evelyn Enniss, and Stockford and Avril Enniss, Marcena and Nathan Anderson, Aridatha and Isaac Douglas, Elsie Benjamin (all deceased), Winston (deceased) and Constance Enniss, and Winnifred Enniss-Benjamin.
Mourning her passing are her husband of 74 years 8mths, Edward Enniss of Scarborough, her six children, Frank (Aldith), Valerie, Ingrid, Pinky Ann, Hughroy (Eleanor), and Andrew (Alisha); seven grandchildren, Dexter (Kelly), Nigel (deceased) (Pierrette), Marvin (Leigh Ann), Tricia, Alicia, and Ryan; and six great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Elijah, Gabriella, Annalia, Marques, and Yohansa.
Louise was Aunt Lou/Aunt Louise, beloved aunt to numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who also mourn her passing: the Andersons (Dolwin (deceased) (Timothine), Michael (Joyce), Wilston, and others; the Benjamin’s- Lenore (James), Leslyn (Charles), Lanomay, and others); Cromwell (deceased), Carol, Euclid, and others; The Enniss’s -Charles (Carol), Walford (Sandra), Evadnie (Patrick), and others; Gloria, June (deceased), Evette, Phanuel, and others; the Douglas’s- Basil (Beryl), Errol, Gerrard (both deceased); the Joseph’s- Iryll, Aubrey, Phillip, and others; Dawn, Tenna, Odetta, and others; Gilbert (Joy), Lorraine, Ena, and others; Ulric, Desiree, Barbara, and others; the Johnson’s- Ronald, Cynthia (deceased), Danford;
She was also cousin to Genevieve Goodchild of New York and her children Claire, Megan, and Frederick (deceased).
A Seventh-day Adventist Christian, Louise was a committed, faithful member of the Bethel SDA Church, Linden, Guyana where she served as Church Clerk and the Shiloh SDA Church, Toronto where she served as deaconess. Louise fell asleep in Jesus and now awaits the call of the life-giver when He returns and, “…The dead in Christ shall be raised first” (1 Thessalonians 4:16, KJV). Until that day, may angels mark your resting your resting place, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife, aunt, and friend! Take your rest, and we will be reunited when Jesus returns.”
