Obituary of Mr. Allan Shorte
Allan Shorte Obituary
It is with the greatest of sadness that the family of Allan Shorte announces his passing after a brief illness on April 28, 2023 at the age of 82. He was born and raised in Dieppe Bay, St. Kitts and Nevis to the late Edwin and Pearline (Bowry) Shorte.
He left St. Kitts, at 19 to make his way to England to start his career in the construction industry. While in England he married his late wife Gloria, and they moved to Canada to live in Toronto and start their family where he remained until his passing. He was keenly interested in the Toronto sports scene and would always be open to a conversation about his beloved Maple Leafs, Blue Jays, Argos, and Raptors.
He was devoted to his faith and spent his entire life sharing the gospel through his fellowship and time with the church choir. He loved to sing and would even take requests at family gatherings. A simple Happy Birthday song to someone could easily turn into one of his favourite hymns.
Always smiling, cheerful and joking, Allan embraced life and was always willing to extend himself to others with his gift of hospitality. He willingly opened his heart and home to friends and relatives needing a place to stay or a kind word.
He was predeceased by his grandchildren; Justin and Jessica, and multiple siblings; Desmond, Esterlley , Sophia, Grenville, Gleniver, and Edwin. He leaves behind his children; Debra (Roy), Trevor, grandchildren; Joshua (Dianne), Jaclyn (Tony), Aurora, great-grandchildren; Carter, Lucas, Gabriella, Daniella. Siblings; Keith (Margaret), Lorna, Hiram (Rosetta), Eddie (Charlotte), Valerie, and Brenda, Siblings In-Love; Rita, Baldwin, Chi - Chi.
