T. Mathew Jacob peacefully passed and went to be with the faithful Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the age of 87 at Scarborough General Hospital. Mathew was the loving husband of Bridget who shared just shy of 55 years together of marriage. Mathew was a most loving and devoted father, father-in law, grandfather, son, uncle and brother-in-law. He was the loving father who asked for nothing in return and only loved to give. Mathew was the father of Meena, Leena, Bindu and Anita and his dear son-in-laws Paul, Tom, Rajesh and Roy. Mathew was the adoring grandfather of his six grandchildren: Helen, Eva, Shalini, Daniel, Samuel and Regis. Mathew was the youngest of his late siblings whom he shared a special bond with: T.M.George, Thankamma Jacob, Kunjamma Jacob, T.M. Mathews. He was a very close brother-in-law to Joseph and Elsamma Kalapurakal, and close uncle to Lilly, Lizzamma and Jain, and close relatives in America, Canada, United Kingdom and India.

Mathew was a devoted Catholic who loved to serve the Lord and was strong in his faith. Mathew grew up in Kuttanad, Kerala and came to Canada in 1968. He worked hard as a Federal Government Employee and also had tremendous involvement in founding and growing the Malayalee community in Toronto. Mathew was a Knights of Columbus and took active parts in his Parish, St. Rose of Lima and St. Thomas the Apostle for over 50 years.

Mathew was known for his joyful smile and sparkling and friendly nature. He was truly a people-person and loved by all who met him, young and old alike.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude for all the care and prayers given by family and friends and the hospital staff at Scarborough General Hospital.
