I was sorry to learn of Mrs. Bruce’s passing. What a wonderful person.
I cannot tell you how much she and Mr. Bruce impacted my life. The term 'second parents' is often overused, but they were exactly that at a turbulent time in my life. Mrs. and Mr. Bruce truly guided me to where I am today.
One thing of so many, that always sticks in my mind was that I first picked up a golf club with Mrs. Bruce's guidance in St. Lambert, at 'The Rock Pile'. I have become an obsessed golfer since. I had the pleasure of having lunch with her and Mr. Bruce at her club in Scarborough many years ago, and regret I never went back and took her up on her invite to “play 9 with her”.
I miss them both. The world was certainly a much better place thanks to them.
