Obituary of Mrs. Carolina Mabanta Lorayes

On February 11, 2023, Carolina Lorayes at the age of 95 passed away peacefully at home. To many, Carolina was referred to as Nanay.

Carolina has always been a stay-at-home mom, caring for her husband and children. She then became an exceptional grandmother, spending all of her time and efforts towards her grandchildren. Carolina cared deeply for family and neighbours that she took on the responsibility of babysitting all the kids while the parents went to work. She did all this not out of obligation, but because it was who she was. She always made sure her family was taken care of and doing well, both in Canada and in the Philippines. Carolina taught the importance of family amongst her children and grandchildren.

Carolina was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Patricio Lorayes. She is survived be her 8 children Teresita (Tess), Leonarda (Nora), Rosario (Rose), Trinidad (Yeng), Lisandra (Sandra), Carlos (Caloy), Rosa Isabell (Bhell) and Maria Teresa (Maritess). Along with his children, Carolina will always be remembered by his 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Carolina will greatly be missed by all the lives he's touched.
