Obituary of Mr. Nepal Bhowmik

It is with great sadness that the family of Nepal Bhowmik announce his passing on Sunday January 8, 2023, at the age of 84.

Nepal will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Archana; son Chris, daughter Sunita, son-in-law Ranjan, granddaughters Asha and Diya, and family friends.

Born in India and orphaned at a young age, Nepal pursued education in India and Germany before starting a career as a mechanical engineer in the early 60’s.  He immigrated to Canada in 1967 and worked as an engineer for 35+ years in the Aerospace industry with companies such as SKF, Spar Aerospace, and De Havilland Canada.  One professional career highlight included the opportunity to work on the world renown Canadarm (robotic arm used on space shuttle orbiters) project.

Nepal had a long-life dream to travel the world and managed to visit South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, the South Pacific, the Caribbean, and across the U.S. and Canada.

Nepal was driven to provide for his family and valued hard work ethic, humility, and practicality.

To celebrate his life, a viewing will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2023, between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m., at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1S 1T3.
