So many memories, where to start? Such a kind lady Peggy was to me. I had my 21st birthday party at her home. I met my daughters father at her home, these at milestones for me. Her generosity and openness allowed all of us to learn to socialize and share closeness and love. I visited her a few years ago, just kind of dropped in. Clyde was there, Peggy was cooking and she fed us like the days gone past. All my love. You are with Marjorie now.

Although I met Maureen only twice, I've always admired the positive energy of this family and the immediate sense of belonging one can have when in their company. Without question, this a culture that can only be brought on by the Mother that raised this family. Intentional or not, that type of example breeds forward into future generations creating lasting peace and happiness. Not every family is this blessed. No doubt a great credit to Maureen. May you rest peace with the Lord.

I remember every year, Grandma Marjorie, Granmda Peggy, Valda and everyone would have the best cookout in the backyard with all of the kids and family. It was a euphoric and rememberable experience everytime. Good burgers, great people , and even better laughs . The sense of belonging that Peggy brought to everyone that walked into her house was unavoidable . Whether it was dominoes , or running down the street to the park to play , because Grand Peggy always had open arms and a big heart , there was always love around .
I know she is up there now , with her friends and family who may have passed , enjoying the best meals since she and her friends are such good cooks, everyday . She is not alone. And we are not alone. Our spirits forever intertwined , the angel Peggy has a smile on her face and still giving out that love from her big heart ..
Thank you Maureen, you've helped me and so many others as we go through this life . I love you and I KNOW you're in peace . God Bless.

To the family, please accept heartfelt condolences over your loss of a beautiful human being. Maureen attended St. Luke's Anglican Church on Coxwell Avenue. There she was loved, admired and respected by all the members of the congregation.
Herself and Barbara Toney counted collection for quite a number of years at St. Luke's Church. Peggy was always wearing a beautiful smile, friendly, caring and showing love and respect to all.
I was really saddened to hear of her passing. She lived a full life, with purpose, passion and helping so many who needed assistance.
May her beautiful soul rest in Peace. Gone and never to be forgotten.
Heartfelt condolences to the entire family and friends.

Auntie Peggy's spirit was one that always brought "a sense of refreshment" to any environment. Always one to greet you with a warm smile and a cheerful spirit. The fond memories I shared with her came on her regular visits to Barbados while we were kids. The memory that remains most etched in my memory are the warmth dispayed in her eyes and her effervesent smile.
While studying in Canada back in the 80's she opened her home to me and made sure that I enjoyed the hospitality that was fitting of a son. I remember her numerous telephone calls made to Barbados to speak to "Patsy" as she affectiately called mummy. Auntie Peggy, I know without a shadow of a doubt that you soul rest in the Presence of Lord. Our God knows best and it was His will to call you home into His Presence at this time. Our finite minds would never be able to understand the ways nor the mind of God.
May you sould Rest in Peace!
Love,

As recently as yesterday mummy was reminiscing about her trips to Canada between 1967 and 2017.
Mummy recalls Peggy taking her to Zellers, Bi-way and Honest Ed's to.name a few stores. Additionally all three sisters made a trip to Barrie where mummy picked up her precious french white dishes.
Another jaunt Peggy Joan and Elaine enjoyed was when they took bus trips to Buffalo or beyond. On one of these said trips mummy lost her passport and had to head back to Carlsview to retrieve it.
The lost of Peggy has hit me hard because I mentioned to Joel that I was praying that God would grant me the desire of my heart and allow me to visit my two sisters in 2023. That will not be possible now.
A very special memory that just came to mind was when Peggy was leaving primary school for High School someone tried to block Peggy's scholarship by saying she'd didn't need it since she lived in a wall house. The head teacher was of the mindset that Peggy was deserving so the scholarship money was divided un two
Karyn an Tanya know that your auntie loves you and will always be here for you. Please accept my deepest condolences.

This day is one of the saddest days for Matthew my son and myself. I’ve know aunty Peggy (miss Maureen) for almost 65 years and grew very close to her during my adult life until now. We’ve enjoyed every moment spent with her during her holidays to Bim at my house reminiscing about the people we new from Darrells road, Harts gap, St Matthias Deighton and surrounding areas it was a joy. My son Matthew who grew very close to her and spent almost every summer at her home
favoured her as his mother and best friend, with her making fish cakes and bakes or giving him a bread n 2 for breakfast, picking cucumbers and tomatoes in the morning and looking forward to a game of basketball with the Toronto Blue Jays and communicating with her friend Valda about the game.
Life will just not be the same without her we’ll keep on loving her in our hearts forever.
May she Rest In Peace.

Dear Aunty Peggie, no matter how hard I try to string together these words to express how much I love you, they will prove inadequate, so I beg your forgiveness in advance.
Aunty Peggie, it seems I was blessed to have you as a constant in my life. As a child growing up in Barbados, you and Uncle Bert at first, then with the addition of Karyn and eventually little Tanya would visit for Christmas or Summer. The good times, the laughter, the goodies and the gifts you brought from “over in away” all bring a warm smile to my face all these years later.
When I decided to travel to Canada to study, Auntie P, you played a huge role in facilitating that move and opened your home to me. More than the food and shelter, you provided a mother’s love and guidance as I grew accustomed to life in this foreign land, which eventually became home.
As I matured and moved on to those next stages of life – marriage, kids and raising a family, again you provided a tower of support. Whether it was tips on how to handle the babies, free babysitting services for two, attending baby christenings and birthday parties, you were always there. We owe you so much.
Aunty P, you didn’t just talk love, sharing and caring. You lived it. So many of us benefitted from your generosity even though you were never a wealthy woman, at least materially. Your riches flowed from your pure heart, kind words and self-less actions. Like your mother Ma, that sweet, gentle and faithful soul, I’ve never heard you raise your voice in anger or utter those naughty words that sometimes cross our lips. You’d always say, “leave it up to God to deal with them”.
Yes, the tears will flow because I’ll miss you so much but at the end of it all there will be smiles and laughter when I remember the good times and the essence of you, my one and only Aunty Peggie. I will always love you.
Your nephew,
Stephen Daniel

MS Scotland Yard, the Amazing Pro
One summer day Aunty Peggy came to visit me. That day my granddaughter Kaira was spending time with me. Kaira was still in the baby stage. She loved being on the deck admiring all that she can see and touch. Enjoying the wonders of summer.
While having a good time together, I told Aunty to go into the garden and reap some of the vegetables and fruits that Jeff and I had planted. She took the bag I offered her and enjoyed picking different kinds of tomatoes, beans, peppers cucumbers etc. She also got some strawberries which we had planted for Kaira and my grandson Trisaun. While Aunty Peggy was in the garden Kaira was watching her like a hawk with keen avid attention, fully focused with apt interest and curiosity. When Aunty Peggy was finished, she came back onto the deck. Kaira started wiggling and trying to get to Aunty. We discovered that Kaira wanted to see what was in the bag. At the end of our visit, Aunty Peg began to get ready to leave, she turned to Kaira to give her a hug and a kiss. But Kaira was not satisfied. She kept trying to get to Aunty peg. She was like a police officer making an arrest. With steadfast determination and insistence, she made Aunty take everything out of her handbag and the other bags she was carrying. When she was satisfied that she had seen everything, and Aunty Peg didn’t have anything that she wasn’t supposed to have, Kaira started smiling and was once more gleeful and happier.
Both Aunty Peg and I watched her with astonishment , we couldn’t believe what we had just seen. Aunty Peg looked at her and said, “Wow! She’s like Scotland Yard, not only did she examine me, but my bags also – detective Scotland Yard” from that moment onward whenever Aunty was talking about or commenting about Kaira, she referred to her as Ms. Scotland Yard, that became her bonding joke with Kaira. She and I always had a great laugh when we remembered that day. Especially when remembering how very young Kaira was and how adept she was like a pro detective. To this day Kaira never lets anyone touch or take something that she knows belongs to someone else!

My deepest sympathy to Karyn, Tanya and the rest of the family. My memory of Peggy during the many years that I have known her she was the warmest, kindness and loving person I met. She welcome my family as her own whenever we visited from Montreal. We remember fondly those backyard BBQ ‘s and family picnics. I am thankful for the time we spent together in September. We shared conversation, laughter also watched the Blue Jays played. She will always be in our hearts.. may she Rest In Peace.

My most recent memory of auntie Peggy was just after Thanksgiving 2022. In one of our frequent calls she was beside herself not being able to find a "cooks ham" and wanted to know how I made out. I told her that I had no loyalty to ham brands and that I purchased a nice one at Food Basics which wasn't fatty or salty. Auntie Peggy said "I am making a mental note and I'll have the girls check Basics."Though not a big foodie auntie loved tasty, well prepared meals.
Auntie I love you to the moon and back and God willing we will meet again.
