Wishing sincere condolences to all of the Avison family. I have only the fondest of memories working with Ted and the crew in the early days. Ted was the best of the best. Such a class act and a wonderful mentor. His work hard, play hard ethic is a great example for all. And moreover, he always showed how he cared deeply for his family, colleagues and friends. He will be missed.

I am going to miss my annual December conversations with Ted. Without fail over the last 15 to 20 years
as soon as he received our real estate calendar to Groomsport, he would phone to thank me and we would tell stories for half an hour or longer. He loved my old hockey and Wilnot stories and I loved
his old hockey stories from the Regina Pat days and how heavy his goalie pads when they were wet and he had to carry them. Etc. For anyone that knew him, they knew who he was larger-than-life and could sure light up a room. I will always have the vision of him in his golf attire with the famous cigar. RIP Ted

Ted was truly a larger-than-life kind of man, always smiling and a great story to recall. There were many fond memories made during the early days of Avison & Associates. My deepest condolences to the entire Avison family.

We fondly remember when we would walk our two Labrador retrievers down past the Avison house and often Ted would come out to chat with us and the dogs. And who could forget Ted going around the block on his wobbly bike. We also have fond memories of being invited to drop by on New Years Eve to enjoy a drink with Ted and Mary. Ted didn't even ask us what we wanted. He just presented us with tumblers full of Scotch! Always so welcoming.
Because of his imposing nature, his charm and his charisma, it was almost like Ted was the principal resident on our street. He was both a gentleman and a gentle man.

I was fortunate enough to experience Ted’s bigger-than-life personality for over 2 decades. We enjoyed many a good meal and golf game over the years and had many chuckles. I will miss Ted’s stories and colourful essence.
My deep and sincere condolences go to Ted’s entire extended family. It is difficult to say goodbye to a patriarch, but know that he will be guiding you from his place in Heaven. Warmest regards, Tom Story

Truly a great man and wonderful soul has left us. Whether through friendship, work or a chance encounter, Ted changed and shaped the lives of so many, something I am personally forever grateful for.
We can only imagine the grief all of you are feeling. We hope in time your sadness will be cushioned by wonderful memories of a life well lived.
May Ted rest in peace and walk with a renewed smile along side of your wonderful mom, Mary.
Sending all our love and hugs to the entire Avison Family.

All of our parents, Ted and Mary, Jack and Bette, were the Fab Four of New Years Eve. The Avisons and Baskervilles did it up right at all the best rooms in town. If Jack were well, he would be at the service for his best friend, telling everyone there was no one better than Ted to ring in the year with. Wendy & I will be thinking of the Avisons on funeral day, while we’re in Nova Scotia but come New Year’s Eve, we’ll be remembering Ted & Mary & Bette & Jack, whooping it up at the King Edward Hotel.

I remember a time. In a back yard somewhere. Ted and my Dad drinking beer and manning the Barbecue. Smoking cigars and trying to out BS each other. All us kids, and there were a lot of us, roaring around raising hell. It was a glorious childhood. That grin. Those twinkling eyes. That’s what I will always remember. The best of times.
