Mrs. Zoi Athas

Obituary of Mrs. Zoi Athas

Please share a memory of Mrs. Zoi to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With great sadness and a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Zoi Athas (nee Boussoulas). Zoi passed away on December 17, 2022, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She fought long and hard to the very end. Cherished daughter of Caterina and the late Elias Buslas, beloved wife to Nick, loving mother to Dimitri, beautiful daughter-in-law to Emily and the late Dimitri Athas, dear sister to Despina (Tom) Tsoulogiannis, Taso (Jenny) Boussoulas, and Sandra Athas, loved by, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and all who knew her.

Zoi was born and grew up in Toronto. Zoi loved her Greek heritage and joined various Greek Dancing groups where many friendships were formed. Most of these friendships were part of her life to the very end. Zoi went on to become a real estate agent, where she worked at Homelife/Bayview Realty and Homelife/Vision Realty.

Zoi met Nick in the winter of 2006 and quickly fell in love. They married in October 2007.  Blessed with a beautiful boy, Dimitri, the following year, whom she nurtured and has raised to be a wonderful young boy.

Zoi was an incredible wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and aunt who touched the hearts of everyone she met. She was kind, gentle, and giving and had a beautiful smile. She had a zest for life and enjoyed dancing (especially Latin with her brother) and Greek.

Heaven gained another angel, and we know that wherever she is, she is watching over all of us, especially her Dimitri.
