Obituary of Mr. Wilfred Black

Please share a memory of Mr. Wilfred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It’s with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wilfred Black at the age of 99.

Wilf was born May 13, 1923 to parents Joseph and Annie in Glenarm, Ontario. He was the youngest of eight children. Wilf grew up on the farm in Glenarm, where he developed his strong work ethic.

In 1949, he met Betty, in Toronto at a dance and they wed six months later. Together they had four children, Dianne, Dave, Brian and Keith.

Wilf worked at Sangamo in Quality Assurance testing electric meters. He took pride in his work and enjoyed the friendships he made. Wilf was an avid golfer and would take many trips to the United States to play his favourite golf courses with his family and friends. Wilf enjoyed swimming, fishing and boating at the cottage.

Wilf is predeceased by his parents, siblings and his wife Betty. He is survived by his four children, Dianne (Ted), Dave (Laura), Brian and Keith; his six grandchildren, Erin, Tracy (Colin), Danielle, Lea-Anne, Holly (Jordon) and Jennifer (Mike); and his six great-grandchildren, Samantha, Kendall, Tristan, Dillon, Harper-Mae and Kennedy.

Wilf was a considerate and kind individual. His positive outlook, humour and stories will be greatly missed.
