It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Derek Huxley Anthony de Alwis on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Son of late Therese and Arthur de Alwis. Beloved husband of Kanthie. Loving father of Sandra (Anthony Panditharatne) and Dylan (Shammica Weerawardena). Grandfather of Ryan (Kimberly) and Andrea. Brother of late Lancelot (late Lakshmi), late Clynton (Manel) and Shiromi (late Dilman Jayaratne).
Derek was born in Sri Lanka on January 9, 1940 and immigrated to Canada in 2001.
He will be missed by his family and friends especially by his wife, children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
