Lloyd,
You will be greatly missed, you were a kind and very helpful Brother-In-Law to the whole family.
Your memory is with us forever. God has you with him. We'll always have you in our hearts.
You were a loving husband to my sister Ena. I know she will miss looking at her Lloydie every minute of the day.
She is going to miss you greatly.
She has a lot of people that love her and will take care of her until she meets you and Sean in Heaven.
Love Bernie (Bernadette Machado)

The suffering is no more, you are now in a better place Uncle Lloyd.
Uncle Lloyd was always there for you and was a quiet man. Depending on the day, whenever you walked into their home from 50 Trudelle to Overture Rd to 44 Bongate there was either football, hockey, tennis, or Y & R on their tv, and when he was outside he was washing his car or if you couldn’t find him he was by his bar playing music. Me being the only girl between Sean (my cousin), Uncle Lloyd and my Dad on pretty much every Sunday watching sports (while they went back and forth about disagreeing on “WHA-HE-NAME” to this day I still don’t know what that means. During the week I would see him come home from The Hudson’s Bay and change into home clothes and watch Aunt Ena put his dinner on the table where he would sit with both feet up on the dining room chair and for an evening snack he would have tea and the cookies with the red jelly in the middle. He was a constant figure in my life as I grew up. Uncle Lloyd was the Master of Ceremonies at my wedding, both Uncle Lloyd (and Auntie Ena) were always there for all the kids' events, and would babysit my kids when there was no one else. He was more than my Uncle.
As much as we knew this day was coming, it’s still a hard one to grasp. I know Sean(your son) will welcome you with open arms and that you are finally at peace.
Don’t worry Auntie Ena is going to be fine.
You will always be in our hearts and will be missed dearly.
Love Laurie-Ann, Tyson, Jaide and Jalen.

Lloyd was born in Georgetown, Guyana. He was married to his childhood sweetheart Ena (Olga) (nee Dias) for over sixty years. Not only was Lloyd the loving father of Sean (Olimpia) but was, also, the adoring Granddad of Adam, Ryan and Eric.
Lloyd met Ena while they were both working at Forgaty Store in Guyana. In the seventies, Lloyd, Ena and Sean emigrated to Canada where he continued his career in the Ladies Shoe Department of the Hudson Bay Company. Lloyd was highly respected as an authority on Ladies Shoes.
Lloyd’s real love was music. He loved the music of the fifties and the sixties. He loved easy listening, country and reggae music. He was also an avid sport enthusiast. He loved most sports, including cricket, ice hockey, tennis and Formula 1 car racing. He attended several such events in Montreal with Sean.
Lloyd never recovered from the sudden passing of Sean. After a lenghty illness the Good Lord took him into his arms where he was welcomed by his Mother (Mary), Father (Jose), Brothers (Joe, Tony, Eddie, Abel, Manny) and Sister (Nora) with Sean leading the way.
Lloyd will be truly missed by all. A great person, a devoted husband, a wonderful and caring father, a model grandfather, a very helpful brother and an ultra dependable uncle.

Lloyd was a gentle soul who will be missed. I am sure he is a peace and was greeted by Sean who welcomed him with open arms at the gates of heaven.

It is very sad to say Goodbye to our dear Uncle Lloyd, the last of his generation of the Rodrigues family.
Lloyd has always been a big part of our family. I remember Lloyd living with us, my parents, and siblings until the day he married Ena.
Uncle Lloyd, Covid 19 has kept us apart over the last three years, but you were always in our hearts.
Our prayer is that as you cross over to the other side, Sean, your parents, and siblings will be there to welcome you home and to be with the Lord.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Until we meet again.
