Obituary of Mr. Edward Siu-Hang Tang 鄧少衡先生
On October 26, 2022, Edward Siu-Hang Tang passed away peacefully at the age of 70, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his beloved wife Sandy and daughters Stephanie and Priscilla.
Edward was a proud alumnus of The Chinese University of Hong Kong where he had studied World and Chinese History. He had a strong passion for education and history. He worked as a teacher prior to moving to Canada, and in his new home he contributed to the Chinese Heritage Language Program by writing curriculum textbooks. Edward learned programming and worked as a systems analyst at the Bank of Montreal until retirement in 2012. Edward was an avid traveler who loved fishing and camping. He also enjoyed puzzles, mah-jong, photography, Chinese chess, karaoke, and sports such as table tennis and soccer.
Edward is survived by his loving wife Sandy and two daughters Stephanie and Priscilla. Dear brother of Mary, Raymond (Joan), and Helen (John). Cherished uncle of Laureen (Aaron) and Hubert (Sarah). Affectionate great uncle of Axel.
Visitation will be at the Ogden Funeral Home (4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Scarborough) on Friday, November 4 from 4-8 pm. Funeral service will be held at Ogden Funeral Home on Saturday, November 5 at 11:30 am. Interment at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery (7770 Steeles Avenue East, Markham). Charitable donations can be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in Edward Siu-Hang Tang’s name.
