Obituary of Mrs. Phyllis Campbell

Phyllis Elizabeth Campbell was born on April 18th, 1937 in Stokes Hall, St. Thomas Jamaica. She died on October 7th, 2022 in Ajax Ontario in the company of family and friends.

A viewing will be held on Thursday October 20, 2022 from 5-8 PM at Ogden Funeral Home. The Funeral will be held Friday October 21, 2022 from 1-2 PM – Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave East.

Phyllis is the first of ten children to Amanda and Elias Walker. She attended Golden Grove School in St. Thomas Jamaica. She married Joel Campbell and raised seven boys together. She migrated to Canada in the early 1970’s. Phyllis was a very talented Seamstress and later worked at the University of Toronto where she retired. She was a member of First Baptist Church since she arrived in Canada and later became a member of the Adventist church in Madoc Ontario. Phyllis enjoyed travelling, making drapery and helping people.  

Phyliss is pre-deceased by her parents Amanda and Elias Walker, spouse Joel Campbell & Trevor Thompson - Siblings William, Phillip and Jonathan and step-children Linda and Enid. She is survived by siblings Rupert, Elias, Olive, Arron, Enoch and Annie - Children Noel, Chadie, Bros, Joel, Dickie, Derrick and Rohan and many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces’ nephews and cousins.

Phyliss was a trailblazer and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and a multitude of people from the community where she resided and worked. Phyliss had a big heart and was very instrumental in the lives of many.
