How grateful we were to have had you share your life with us, Ed. You warmed our hearts. You taught us to stay open and see the world differently. And you showed us what resilience, determination, strength and love looked like. You will be so missed. But we have comfort in knowing that you're with Mom. What a gift you were to one another. I'll miss our talks, your advice, your stories. I know you're at peace now. Till we see each other again. We love you so much.

Opa was always such a kind person to everyone. I remember whenever I went to his and lola’s home, we would always greet each other with a hug. My favourite memory of Opa was whenever he would tell me to be a good person. Every time I left the condo to go back home, he would tell me “be good.” To this day, I use what he said and try to be kind to others. Opa, I will miss you dearly. You were such a loving person.

One of my fondest memories of Opa is that he always had a story from his childhood to tell me whenever I was with him or whenever we were talking on the phone. It was always nice hearing about how he grew up, and the cool things he got to experience. He was always cracking jokes and making everyone laugh whenever we were with him. Opa, I'll miss you very much and may you rest in peace.

Ed, when you married our blessed mother, Cynthia, I was very happy for you both. You were kind to Janessa, me and our family, you were a loving husband for Cynthia and I just want to say that I am happy that you were a part of our lives. Though your character was stern at times, I saw the thoughtfulness and kindness you had for Cynthia and our family. Your humour was there and I knew when you shined within it. I enjoyed all of our conversations together, especially when you and I were always outnumbered by the women in our family! I feel comforted that you are now without any pain and suffering and that you together again with the one you loved most, our mom Cynthia. Knowing that you are with Mom only brings happiness to me and my family. Rest in peace Ed, you deserve it.
