Obituary of Mrs. Dora Skeen

On Monday, September 19, 2022, Dora Skeen (nee Williams) passed away, peacefully, at the

Scarborough General Hospital, Scarborough, Ontario at the age of 111 years and 264 days. She

was born in Manchester, Jamaica and lived in the Brighton/Santa Cruz area, St Elizabeth for

most of her adult years. She migrated to Canada in 1980 and settled in Scarborough.

She was a mother, grand-mother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother. She had eight

children: Beatrice, George (deceased), Louise (deceased), Errol, Jenny (Lloyd), Veronica,

Cicclyn, Vanessa; 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Miss Dora, as she was fondly called, enjoyed cooking, and up to four years ago was shopping

and preparing her meals. She will be remembered for her warm smile, laughter, and quick wit.

During her latter years, she was blessed with a great, passionate, and loving team of caregivers,

both at Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities, and Bendale Acres Long Term Care

Home. We are truly grateful for their service.
