Obituary of Mr. Merit Green

Merit Bies Green passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at North York General Hospital in Toronto, surrounded at the bedside by his family and close friends. Merit is survived by his wife Una, his children, Janet, Deion and Claire, and grandchildren and a number of extended family members, and a multitude of friends. His son Andrew preceded his death.

Merit was a master storyteller. He had a gift for long tales derived from the many adventures he encountered living in three continents over the past 85 years. Merit was also a master craftsman; a carpenter, a draftsman and a builder. He used his skills to build custom houses that enriched the lives of many who were fortunate enough to live in them. He will be missed by his many relatives and friends on all three continents.

A Visitation will be held at the Ogden Funeral Home in Scarborough on September 8th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. On September 9th there will be an additional Visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, followed by a Memorial Service from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. Friends are invited to join with family in celebrating his life.

The family kindly requests that you were bright or white colours, not black to the service if possible.
