Obituary of Mrs. Vera Small
Vera Small was born in Clarendon, Jamaica, on April 30, 1934. She was an adventurous and brilliant teen. Her parents, Agatha Anderson and Henry Ross had ten children. Vera was the third eldest daughter. She is survived by siblings, Herbert Grant, Joseph Grant, and Frances Ross, and her beloved sister Glenda Grant. Olive Ross has passed on. Vera had an arranged marriage at age 18 to James Alexander Henry who was 22 years her senior. They had four children; Doreen Henry, Tony Henry, Eroll Henry, and Jennif LaQuant (Elaine Henry). She moved to the UK before her twentieth birthday with her then-husband.
She lived in the UK for almost fifteen years. After he died in 1962, she married Lascelles Small and had three children: Georgette Small, Junior Small, and Sharon Small. The list of her loved ones that will miss her includes; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and over seventy nieces and nephews in Jamaica, the UK, and other parts of the world. In her later years, she traveled to London to spend time with her beloved sister Lynette. She developed a special relationship with her nieces and nephews and their children. Tony Thomas, Michael Thomas, Beverly Thomas, Rosalind, Donna, and Sharon Owens. Vera was a lifelong member of Members In Christ Assemblies and was actively involved in teaching Sunday School. She was known for being kind, soft-spoken, and generous to a fault. She was the epitome of faith and forgiveness. She is now resting in the bosom of Jesus and is very happy. She was well loved on this earth and will be greatly missed.
