Mr. Bill Sevigny

Obituary of Mr. Bill Sevigny

Please share a memory of Mr. Bill to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On August 22nd at Scarborough General Hospital, peacefully at age 77, surrounded by family, suddenly and unexpectedly after suffering complications following surgery for an undiagnosed aortic aneurism.

Loving Husband to Carol. Beloved Father to Amy, Tim, Chris (Carly), Leah Wannamaker (Josh). Immensely proud and devoted Grampa to Nathen, Alyssa, Hayden, Parker, and little Remi.  Also dearly loved and missed by former Daughter-in-law Lisa.

Dearest Brother to Frances Wachna (John (deceased) and children Greg, Anna and Peter) and Reid (deceased) (survived by wife Cherry and children Tobi and Robin), and greatly missed by a large extended family and many friends, including the four-legged kind.

After graduating high school, Bill worked at both Maple Leaf Gardens and Bell Canada. He retired as a Manager from Bell Canada at age 48 to enjoy an early retirement. But sitting still has never been his thing and since he’s always had a love for cars, he quickly enrolled in the Service Advisor program at college and shortly after completion started his “retirement” career as a Service Advisor at Scarborotown Chrysler. After several years, he transitioned to driving the shuttle bus for Scarborotown Chrysler. He loved both positions as they allowed him to interact with customers as well as staff, both of whom provided him with an audience for his many stories and were a great outlet for his talkative nature.

Bill loved early mornings, and fishing has been a great pastime of his for many years.  He was a member of the Scarborough Bluffs Sailing Club for many years, eventually holding positions in the club. He also loved walking with his friends, meeting up for coffee and chats and visits with his friends and siblings.

Bill’s extreme generosity of his time and energy will be missed beyond words. Whether it was dropping off care packages to his kids (despite them being fully grown adults), visiting those who needed cheering up or a helping hand, or being at almost every single event his grandkids ever did, he was always there for everyone and we are so very grateful for him.

Many thanks to the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Scarborough General for the wonderful care they gave to Bill and our family.
